I know its a bit early, but regardless of this years result its obvious that a backman would have to be on the agenda during trade week. We all know that getting Judd was a long thought out plan. So what backmans come out of contract this year that we could possibly poach to become a navy blue.

If we could poach a backman, would you offer our first draft pick pending on how good he his?

Surprised you guys didn't pick up Jason Cloke last year.He was solid player ,with plenty of AFL experience,he played well for the bendigo bombers,the bulldogs didn't pick him up,carlton could have got him for nothing.Maybe not the best around but certainly would have helped your backline.

We had one, but decided that he didnt fit the sterotype footballer of today. Lance could of filled the hole at CHF very easily this year with the amount of football that will be in our forward line. Just because he was slow and couldnt jump doesnt mean he still couldnt play at the highest level.

It is a bit early, but I'd put some money on Cam Cloke. He's tall enough, wide enough and any idiot can punch.

You have already got a quality CHF-His name is Waite.
If you can get a KP backman waite can play CHF

The young guys would feel confident having someone like lance there. Sometimes a CHF only has to make space for his team mates by leading to the right spots and sometimes making a contest is enough, especially with the likes of murphy, betts, stevo, judd and co lurking at their feet. We could of done worse than keep him onboard for another year IMO.

Nah,unfortunately collingwood offered him 1 million a year,for 4 years and he said NO ! besides he has re signed with the lions for 4 years.

No disrespect but this ain't a " Feel Sorry" or "What could of been" thread for Lance, he was a champion. I just generally want to know who can be poached this year. If we happen to get a KP backman, our spine is starting to shape up, Fevola (If still there 50/50),Waite ( Pending if we get a backman can play CHF) Murphy, KP backman , and either Jamison/Sentanta/Grig whoever

Lance was gone. If he was good value at CHF anymore, he'd be there.

I'm inclined to agree that Waite should be at CHF, but I'm not sure he'd be anymore consistent there than at CHB. I see him more as a winger, if there's such a thing these days.

Cam Cloke is not a CHF or key defender, and never will be.

I think we need to pick up some instant forward power. The Richmond game made me realise how important Matty Lappin actually was to us. When the big guys wern't getting it done he shined, and would kick in bursts to get us back into games.
