Jones has talent but he's frustrating in that he doesn't put on the size needed to play his position and can go game after game in bad form. His good performances are scintillating though....

At the Dogs Jones would get the number 1 defender, with us Lachie & Levi would get 1st & 2nd defenders. So that might help. As the 3rd tall he probably wouldn't need to be that massive mister key forward either.

How wrong we were. I trust the club will recruit the right type of player after seeing how they went about it last year.

Assuming Kreuzer is fit and Casboult is giving him a chop-out, then Wood becomes insurance. If we can prise a second rounder from Geelong for Warnock, then I'd go to the rookie draft and pick up a project ruckman.
In the catastrophic event that both Kreuzer and Wood are injured, then we may encounter some difficulty.

I think peoples underestimate Essendons ignorance in all this. I think they will play hardball. I think they will see a 2nd rounder unders and a sign of guilt in itself and push this to the end.
Not to mention the Hawks have won a flag without one and seem to do pretty well even when rookies are their only option. Most overrated position now in the AFL and the reason why we looked so much better with Cam Wood over Warnock simply because he was more mobile and could cover more ground. Unless you have something special like a Sandi or NicNat with something that makes them incredibly hard to match up on, dont want. Give me someone who can mark and kick with an engine first, who will provide a contest in the middle 2nd and im happy. Warnock would have been great 20 years ago. The games too fast now, athletes have too many attributes that you cant just be a tap ruckman anymore.

Was just discussing Jones with a couple mates. Has pretty average stats but we all agreed that it can't hurt to pick him up if we can get him cheap enough. Also a good point that he'd be a 3rd tall.
Considering how well we did last year, really trust the club to do the right thing during trade period.
