Port heard Dunkley was interested in a change of clubs, got on the front foot knowing that he has a connection to SA (albeit potentially fleeting) in the hope of trumping other suitors.

The manager knew he'd be happy to go to SA if he can't get to Brisbane and played both clubs off against each other to get the two clubs to offer up similar contracts.

Now they've gotten the offer they were looking for is waiting for Brisbane to finish their season so he can announce his intentions.

Managers know Port are embarrassingly desperate and are taking advantage of it to play other clubs offers against ours to get their players the best deal..

I want Dunkley. I will be devastated if we miss out on him.

Despite the negativity here, we have as good a squad as any of the last 4 and Dunkley completes our midfield. We couldn’t get Robbie a flag but we can still get Trav one. When you have a Brownlow medalist in your team your time is now- not in 5 years.

You just don’t get established players the class of Dunkley wanting to come every year. You can get draftees as good as Phillipou every year- hell, there may be 5 of them this year alone.

I’m sick and tired of not winning flags and I want success now- not in 5.

This is just negative rubbish. Football club v football club we s**t all over Brisbane. Our footy club has 152 years of proud history, it’s a great club that might’ve lost its way this year but has plenty of upside with our list moving forward.

Brisbane is doing well now but they’ll lose the prelim just like we did the previous two seasons, and they were literally inches away from a elimination finals loss.

The coach is an obvious issue for us, the chairman is also a knob but the club as a whole is still good and will outlast them both who are nearing the end.

I also believe Adelaide is a much nicer city than Brisbane, contrary to a weirdly popular belief on this board our current captain isn’t a flog like Zorko and our captain in waiting certainly isn’t, and the Gabba sucks compared to Adelaide oval.

It is not about the money for Dunkley, it is about the life style with his family.
His missus has a contract and will live in Adelaide next year but she is from Brisbane, where his sister currently is playing Netball.

The Netball comp is bankrupt, he may be trying to ascertain about his missus future after 2023.

He's a 21 year old that went top 10 in a very good draft for a reason.

Sounds like he needs an attitude shift but the talent is there.
