Bowes isn't coming to Port, guys.

We really need to start setting our expectations for this trade period to be a bit more realistic. It'll end up being Rioli for Amon compo and perhaps a couple of minor pick swaps involving Hayes. Maybe Narkle as a DFA on top.
Don’t break the Kiddies hearts just play along 😛

While I can completely understand why Hayes would request a trade, moving to Collingwood is probably a bit short sighted. Even if they lose Grundy, Darcy Cameron is younger and better than Lycett. If Hayes can wait it out a year for Hinkley to piss off, he's got a better chance of being in our best 22 in 2024 than he does Collingwood's best 22.

Bonner can not defend and does not get his own ball.
A lovely kick the same as Farrell, we should not be playing both in the same team.

Sounds like your describing 90% of the wingmen in the comp. Perhaps bonner should be playing there too.

He's 23 and has played 7 games. Yes KPPs take longer to develop but it's now or never for Sam. The club has all but made clear he is not in their thinking for next year so he maybe gets a handful of games and then has to try and resurrect his career as a 24 year old with 10-12 games under his belt?

Have a look at some of the ruck journeyman and how many games they played. Lycett plated 1,2, 7, 12, 6 games in his first 5 years at WC. Tom Hickey played 2,10,12,6,11. Jarrod Witts played 0,7,20, 11, 2. ****ing hell, Jesse white played 0, 2, 18, 20, 13. This against Sam Hayes's 0,0,0,0,7 with the 7 coming in a year where we played without a ruckman for at least half the season. He has dominated SANFL his entire time on our list, even while returning from an ACL, plays 7 games of AFL with the last couple being poor and all of a sudden he is behind a similar aged player who wasn't even getting regular WAFL games last year. Teakle wasn't even first choice ruck in the SANFL, he was played as a KPF/ chop out and got picked to solo ruck. Sam would also be rightly concerned that he might get shuffled around next year to allow for Visentini's development as it is clear that he is the new 'project' for Hinkley.

Players that hang around in the system get played. They might only play 8-10 games in a year because they are behind better players but there is some form to judge their worth. Sam Hayes has been treated despicably by the club and we have almost ruined his career. At least he will get to a) go home back to Vic and b) play in the best 2nd tier comp so he can work on his game and improve rather than beating up on every spud in the SANFL and being told he's still not good enough.

Id love to try and develop Poulter as a tall wingman.

His height could be a real asset coming out of defence.

He doesn’t play tall from what I’ve seen. Certainty not as strong overhead as Duursma or Bergman.

Poulter isn’t the worst but I don’t think adds much to our list either. He’s a better fit at the Crows.

I thought we were chasing Bowes, not they selling him and 7 for a salary dump. If that is the case you would be stupid not to. Once here we could extend the contract so he still gets his money but over a longer journey ensuring his future career stability.

If we could snare Rioli, Bowes and Graham, Pick 8 and Amon Compo, and 7 on top that is a splendid offseason. - However I am only buying Graham and Bowes at the right price, ie salary Dumps for third round selections.

Out Hayes and the second rounder we received for him, pick 55ish and 58ish this year, next years second and next years third.

As much as I love Hayes and what he could become, to flip him into what could be Graham, Bowes and 2 of Bus/Hayes/Pou/Mackenzie/Humphries/Wardlaw would be a massive coup. 7 and 8 could net us a game changing Mid and pull the trigger on a Key Back, or take two very good mids, or two very Good key backs.

The worst thing about Hayes going to Collingwood is its gonna make me want to watch Collingwood's mens team as well as their womens. I don't want to live in a world where I enjoy watching Collingwood play.
with Hayes wanting out and Collingwood interested ...i wonder if we can do a player swap for Caleb Poulter? (And really stuff up the cow's plans :) )

If we wanted to unsettle a player at Richmond with their GWS recruits coming in, target Noah Balta with a big money offer. Can play as a big key back and swing him forward if needed.

Out of contract end of next year, so could be vulnerable.

I said about trying to get balta a few weeks and people laughed at me I think he would be a great get. Richmond won’t have much money after Taranto and hopper and balta has been changing between defence and forward similar to what alliir was doing at Sydney
If we off full time in backline he might bite
Would cost a bit in trade capital though
