Problem with Esava, is he's worth no more than a 4th rounder. Yet Geelong would undoubtedly want more in return. Realistically the only way he moves is if Geelong do the right thing and release him. Problem for them is with the age of their list letting go of 24 year old KP depth doesn't make sense.

Why would they let him go for that? He’s got some upside imo and worth a 3 year deal to get him across.

An interesting observation.

If we do get JHF then our starting midfield of Boak, Wines, Rozee, Butters, JHF with Duursma and Bergman on the wings are all first round draft picks.

Compare this to our back line, where half of our players are upgraded rookie picks.

Most first round picks are mids, some are forwards, few are defenders. Defence is an easier position to play and the difference between the best and worst defenders is not as great as with midfielders and forwards.

But is he an essential component of the team? No.
Is he replaceable? Most definitely. The point is, if Bonner is the player the club loses on top of the picks we're winning. If Butters, even Duursma, is the player, we're losing. You take this and run.

It feels in their favour but this deal is always gonna be that way I think. 2 1sts and Bonner for JHF and maybe a 3rd is roughly where it’s gonna be.

Looks like we are going to pay a high price but players like him don't come along too often i suppose. Losing a half back flanker is not a worry fortunately.
If Bonner does go I wish him well.

Imo Bonner was never a defender, he has a nice kick and if he was played within 60 of goal he would have had a much better career. Unfortunately Ken tries to make defenders out of forwards and wingers, letting players play to their strengths would be a better approach.

I actually think very highly of Thilthorpe. His best is very very good.

We already have a gun AA caliber KPD in Aliir, what we need is a role player who can take the gun key forwards and free up Aliir to be play the intercept role that earned him is AA selection.

Allir is not a gun kpd he’s great 2nd 3rd tall intercept defender we need as portmagpies36 said BIG defenders to make up for what Jonas and clurry lack in size and strength

I've heard Kosi Pickett to Port has serious momentum, funnily enough from someone with close links to the Demons. Likely to stay at the Demons though for next season you'd think? I wouldn't be surprised at all if he requests a trade to Port at the end of next season. Has anyone on here heard similar?

I'd love to see it happen. Firstly I hate Melbourne but love watching Pickett play, I have a soft spot for Port so it would be much more palatable to see Kosi tear it up for you guys. And Byron Pickett

during his Port playing days is one of my favourite non-lions players of all time(Yes even in spite of the fact that he carved us up in the 2004 grand final). I'd love to see his nephew play for Port as well, it would just feel right.

Rozee, Butters, JHF, Pickett... That's some serious potency.
