What about our first + Ken?

Ken would be very good for North. Their situation would play to his strengths of galvanising a club at their lowest ebb.

Getting flashbacks to when Ben Whatsisname wanted us to trade him to North and all of their eight members came here getting bolshy about shit.

Snake Keating was probably half of them.

Xerri (cousin of Xerox) got to stay in his home state and rightfully plundered norf for probably double his original contract offer. Don’t try and spin that at norf playing hardball, it was a player manager bending you over.

Also lol that Xerri was/is a lifelong Roos fan and still suckered your lot in.

He’s also a massive spud lol

I get sick of this shit by halfway through silly season but have found the last few pages a good laugh.

Just like Pav

Thanks for dropping by. It’s good to get another fan base’s perspective.

For you and your club’s sake, I hope JHF stays. For Port’s sake, I obviously hope he doesn’t, he is exactly the type of mid and player we need to complement our midfield.

Two first round picks is more than fair and reasonable, although I appreciate your points re need to save face and sell it to your base so would maybe take slightly more than that.

I also agree that the media has been really poor. But where is North in this? Maybe I’ve missed it but why isn’t Noble snarling at the media like Bevo does? Hell one of his players films himself with cocaine and Bevo is firing press conferences off demanding the league scrap the illicit drug policy.

And yea North actually has some really good young talent. Not sure it’s better than Port’s but it’s good for sure. Cunnington out also hurts a lot - hope he gets back, maybe he won’t. But the list management has otherwise been terrible there. And clearly the football department is under resourced and lacks talent. Bad time to be a North fan - very similar to Port in that 2010-12 period. Really hard times currently and ahead. For the record, I do think JHF will leave, and I think Zurharr is out the door too. Bad luck buddy.

Our group 25 and younger is outstanding. Did you hear the conversation with David King and Corn that Port are looking at a rebuild? I was surprised by how many of your better players are on the wrong side of the age demographic.
King doesn’t play close attention to port.
I’m not saying he’s a bad analyst but he simply doesn’t watch port.
He was naming Motlop. McKenzie and Robbie gray on the list of players about to retire who would leave a hole.
No disrespect to Robbie but he’s no where near the player he once was and the others are average.

Yea I don’t get this. What are North doing? Do they want to even try and keep him or are they forcing him out?

Eerily similar to the Boak ‘trade’, except we haven’t had the arrogance to rock up to North with a delegation to speak to JHF directly.

I wonder if North fans are starting to appreciate what it’s like to be an interstate club, where each of your Victorian players are spoken about in trade rumours about being ‘brought home’.

We're making the reigning Brownlow medalist look like a plodder. I have no confidence Hewett would have reached the same level he is at Carlton if was under the direction of Kenny and his deluded band of smooth brains.

We are 2-3 years away from needing to look at a George Hewett type recruit.

Get another 40+ games of centre square minutes in to Rozee, Butters and Drew (and Horne-Francis ;) ) first.

Noble won’t be there next year. We have a bit of work to do with off field recruiting. It’s been a pretty savage rebuild, from off field to on.

Like I wrote earlier, they won’t let him go if he asks for a trade this year, they’ll make him play out his contract and win him back like they did with Xerri.

You have absolutely no idea. The hit in round one dislocated his SC joint and caused nerve damage. He was in pretty awful pain for the next few weeks. In SANFL game where he returned after a couple of weeks off he was elbowed in the throat and couldn’t breathe for two minutes. Criticise anything about his footy but you cannot question his courage or toughness.

no no i was sticking up for him! haha. Love duursma and he will get back to his best when he has a good run at things. what i replied to implied hes soft that i dont think he is at all

Or maybe no one said he wouldnt make our team , but that he would just be in a logjam of same same midfielders. Which is accurate.
You said he wouldn't make our midfield and would of been a terrible move to have picked him up.
