We’ve got butters rozee and Spp and between them we’re currently offering all of about 10mins of midfield time a week.

All should be prioritised over bringing in 2nd half of career players. Hewett wasn’t even offered a contract by Sydney on his way out was he?

I don’t think 10 good games for a club enjoying a new coach bounce changes things.

Stuffing our midfield with another one paced mid closer to the end of his career than the start would exacerbate our woes when boak leaves, not help. We’ve got to start developing our own players at some stage.

If not assuming every 26-34 yr old currently on an afl list would win us a premiership if we brought them in is the benchmark for never being wrong … sure

I know he has put off contract talk for the time being but that’s not unusual, McGrath did it and didn’t sign till late in his second year. I think the only player to ever do it was Boyd and that was a $1M per year for a number of years. Can’t think of any others

Anything McGrath did or didn’t do has nothing to do with JHFs decision it’s a cherry picked example to support your statement

What is more relevant (as you point out) North are aided by the 2 year draftee contract and I agree it would have to be overs for them to agree to trade given your current situation

If I was North unless a golden parachute is presented to us Im holding JHF and hoping to turn him around knowing 2023 is a bust regardless and his value isn’t likely to change negatively
