According to Cornes, GWS stars Jacob Hopper and Tim Taranto and Western Bulldogs premiership player Josh Dunkley are three midfielders Port should be looking at.

I've been very impressed by Hopper in he past. Just need to make sure that his injuries are not making him another Fanta/Rocky type of bust recruitment.

Taranto and Dunkley may cost too much to prise away, and some posters here have intimated that the latter has some issues with disposal skills, albeit he gets the pill enough.

Yeah I’m just not that keen on one paced inside mids with average disposal with our midfield group.

We need to develop rozee and butters in the midfield, and if anything the midfielder we need is an inside / outside quicker player who can extract the ball from a stoppage and run it out.

Those guys all cost us several picks, stack our midfield with same same types and stop us from going after other needs.

It would also be pretty absurd to let Amon go for pick 19 or 28 (depending on band 2 or 3) then to trade a midfielder like the above named for the asking price of ? (2 1sts? A 1st and a 2nd?)

Strikes me as very wasteful list management.
Port don’t have too many options. Amon is an unrestricted free agent.

They can only influence the contract offer…. Because the compensation metric will make no sense.

You guys are resilient, we all know the conversations in here mean shit if the coach isn’t out the door.

We could have Hodges, Lockett, Dunstal, peak Judd, Voss etc etc in a team and Hinks would stuff it

Surely DBJ's name should be in the mix for trading?
It'd be a case of sell low with DBJ. If Hinkley is remaining (FFS please no), then he's going to continue to stagnate so a new club is a win-win. If we get a new coach, whilst DBJ isn't a star, I'd back him to get form and confidence back and get to being a useful, rather than detrimental, part of our backline. In that situation he's worth more than we'd get in a trade.

tl;dr #sackhinkley

BLUES EYEING AMON IN BID FOR WINGMAN

Carlton is reportedly bullish on its hopes of landing unrestricted free agent Karl Amon at season’s end.

The Herald Sun reports Amon has a strong relationship with Blues coach Michael Voss, who worked alongside Amon at Port Adelaide during his seven-year tenure as an assistant coach.

Amon, 26, is being looked at by several Victorian clubs, including Hawthorn and St Kilda, with Amon’s mother Katrina recently taking up a post at the latter as Indigenous development manager.

Depending on the deal offered to Amon, Port Adelaide could land a first-round pick ahead of this year’s draft.

Are Carlton using brown paper bags again? They seem to bring in a player every year.

Lol our players are cardboard cutouts to the Vic media

That is the price you are going to have to pay for him though, it's not just the Vic media being bias. I personally wouldn't do that trade, but it will certainly take something close to that.
