Davies said it is up to St Kilda to come to Port with a reasonable offer, quote 'a deal of significance'. We are not going to them with a proposal. Any offer they make has to be commensurate with Port's evaluation of Howard and the contract St Kilda are offering.

CD saying he spoke to Dougal a couple of days ago telling him to prepare to be at Port next year.

Yeah made it sound like unless we get a very good deal he'll likely be playing for us next year. Wouldn't clarify whether forward or back though.

Keep these and ditch the rest.

- Burton
- Ebert
- R. Gray
- Howard (Pending he's not a dick)
- Boak
- Marshall
- Rozee
- Duursma
- DBJ
- Lycett
- Clurey
- Hayes
- Ladhams
- Houston
- Drew
- Farrell
- Butters
- Amon

Let the rest go..

Lets target a few key position players like Cameron from GWS and Moore from the Pies would be good.

There are a couple of targets in the top 20 rookie draft that might be decent but i would be putting my money and picks together for Rankine and Lukosius i would like to see Port target

9. FISCHER MCASEY

Clubs: Sandringham Dragons/Vic Metro

Position: Key Defender

Size: 195cm, 86kg

Bio: McAsey was one of a number of players who pushed their draft credentials during the Under 18 Championships, intercepting at will in the defensive half of the ground. The key defender averaged 6.5 marks during the carnival as he locked down his spot as the best tall in the draft pool. McAsey has the ability to play up forward, as shown by his three goal haul against the Dandenong Stingrays in Round 14, but his strong work in the air down back means it will be the position AFL recruiters will likely be expecting him to play at the next level.

10. DYLAN STEPHENS

Clubs: Norwood/South Australia

Position: Midfielder

Size: 183cm, 69kg

Bio: Stephens projects as one of South Australia’s best draft prospects following a strong carnival playing through the midfield. The left footer uses his pinpoint kicking to spot targets inside 50, likened to West Coast’s Andrew Gaff and GWS midfielder Josh Kelly. Stephens averaged 23.5 disposals during the Under 18 Championships and was named in the All-Australian team. He might only be lightly framed, but he held his spot in Norwood’s SANFL League team, winning the ball on the outside.

16. JOSH WORRELL

Clubs: Sandringham Dragons/Vic Metro

Position: Utility

Size: 195cm, 74kg

Bio: Where Worrell ends up at AFL level is a major unknown, given his ability to virtually play anywhere on the ground. He’s been used as a key position target at either end, while he has also played on the wing and across either flank. He ended as Vic Metro’s leading goalkicker, booting four goals against Western Australia. Worrell has good agility and is an effective kick. Shoulder surgery ended Worrell’s season early and is another prospect that is likely to have a quiet national combine.

But with the blokes we got running the show we will more than likely kick out the young tallent and opt for pre retired walking injuries.

anyone responsible for sutcliffe re-signing should be sacked and publicly shamed, tarred and feathered and tied to the back of the Indian Pacific
With Sam Gray leaving I think it’s a mandatory signing. His average game is good enough that he doesn’t make the side worse, which is useful with incredibly inconsistent players like Farrell, Motlop and potentially a first year player or two.

Sutcliffe in the side means we won’t be able to beat the best teams, but more consistently be able to beat the shitter teams (edit) that an out of form Motlop/Farrell could cost us. This makes him a useful tactical option IMO.

Also, timing suggests maybe this was waiting on what happened with Fantasia, so perhaps consider this the lesser of two evils ;)

Bull ****ing shit. We have plenty of small forward options and if we wont blood guys like Cox, Woodcock and Patmore then we might as well fold the club, because if you won’t take risks and you won’t genuinely invest in youth you will. NEVER have a good enough list to stay up top for long.

Sutcliffe is worthless to this team in 2020 and so is Chris Davies **** off back to cricket George

Is this a serious post?

”We don’t have a plan and don’t what we are trying to achieve”

This from the Club website,

General Manager – Football, Chris Davies explained the club's position.
“Dougal is aware that he is a highly valued, required player at Port Adelaide,” Davies said.
"Given he is contracted to the end of 2022, the club will only entertain a trade with St Kilda if it is in our best interests to do so.
We will discuss the situation with the Saints but if a suitable outcome for our club cannot be reached, Dougal is well aware that he will remain a Port Adelaide player in 2020.”

That suggests that the Club is only prepared to release Dougal if the price is right and that Dougal and his manager are aware of this. It also suggests that there is a certain amount of bs being bandied around. It would not appear that Dougal Howard has ever been told that he is not a required player.

I have to admit to being confused as to why you would tell a 'highly valued and required player' to explore his options.
It's always a bit difficult to go back once a player nominates a club of choice.

Hartlett was different because he never did that and decided to stay, there is still time for Howard but I would say 80% gone.

A camp and a train trip. Sounds like fun!

So at this stage we look like bringing in no players of note at the end of trade week and could lose Dougal for a pick. So to see any improvement next season we’ll need to rely on the coaches to get improvement from our list/improve our game plan.

Another long season ahead with one possible bright spot - Hinkley finally gets the sack

We have probably had 17 enquiries about our future 1st rounder.

They can all see how delusional we are about our position.

Bit annoying that Sutcliffe extension

You just know that we won't shift Sam Gray either

We'll probably pick up some delisted 179cm 30 year old slow small forward in the meantime and Ken won't be able to help himself with the prospect of playing a 6 man midget forward line the moment Dixon gets injured

He's the kind of guy that if you shut in an empty room with nothing but a live power socket eventually he's gonna stick his dick in it
