Lol the train drivers on strike again. Imagine being so dumb. They are gonna automate your jobs no worries.

You have no clue here, none at all!
Maybe learn something first?

It took em two years to electify the Gawler line and I'm still sitting on a diesel train this morning. Imagine how long it would take to automate it. 😄

How dare workers demand better conditions?

Wouldn't be the easiest job. At some point you're just about guaranteed someone is gonna stand in front of the train deliberately and there's nothing you can do about it except watch it unfold.

I don't know if it was deliberate or not but this happened in North Adelaide only a couple of weeks ago.

People have a go at me when I suggest that we need the rank and file out there working. I mean look at the low end dipshittery on here. Idle hands for the working class could mean insurrection ..... as long as they can do it from home it seems. The Revolution may well have to be televised it seems

Which rank and file are you talking about? Unemployment is as low as it's ever been and vacancies are at an all time high. People are working, but we had no immigrants or backpacker workers for 2 years because of covid.

Once again papa G displays a complete lack of understanding about anything.

I thought you had him on ignore? lol

That sounds good on the surface chiwigi but most people in Australia benefit from the second option via their superannuation. That doesn't even include the mum and dad investors who have a small share portfolio.

"The union is refusing to operate any foreign-made trains on Friday after repeated requests for the government to conduct safety repairs on the Korean-built New Intercity Fleet (NIF).

NSW Transport Minister David Elliott pledged $264m on Wednesday to fix the fleet despite believing that the trains were safe and did not require modification.

Mr Elliot told 2GB radio station the government had offered railway workers $3000 bonuses to get the fleet on the track without modifications."

i haven't bothered with un-ignoring any of Janus posts for years and I think that one worked out ok.
I just scroll past lol

Not sure Firefighters and Teachers work for Publicly Listed Corporations

They certainly do, good luck getting your staff to work if the schools are closed or nobody is teaching them to read and write, or they can't access health care.

I'm not sure who will put out the fires in the city if there are no fireys.

Things grind to an absolute halt without these roles, they don't tend to if Maccas closes down.

The rail is a great example (in London especially), you have billions lost because the rail workers are striking, for far less than the loss amount so they can afford to live in the city they work in. Workers knowing their real worth isn't the problem.

More than they would being paid a fair wage?

I doubt it.
