Good work Muf to start this thread for 2011 !

It has been very quiet on the 19's Premier front according to my mail.

Have any teams got practice matches pencilled in ?

OS 19's still without a coach!
Any one know how many second year players each team as this year?
Thought last year the De la had many second year players, as did OX, just wondering how many most of the teams have?

What happened to last year’s coach? He did a great job and seemed like a good bloke. De La starts training next week. A few of last years team still eligible but many of those will push for seniors. A very different look to them this season and don’t expect them to dominate like recent years. Should be ok but will come back to the pack a bit.

Last year's coach has moved up to coach the 2nds this year I think, which left no one to do the 19's. Yeah I thought they had a few 2nd year players last year. Any other clubs looking good?

A lot of coaching changes with De La, OS, OM, OX (half of the co coaching team from 2010 gone) and Beauy with new appointments.

Does anyone have a good reason why all of the top four would have newish coaches apart from promotions to bigger and better roles ?

Interesting times ahead.

DLS was exactly just that - a promotion to the VFL. JE achieved all things possible with that list and it was time to move on.

Really good to see those that have been promoted not shooting their mouths off like those flogs from OM's last year.

Were any of them parents? maybe moved on cause the kids arent playing this year?

Does anyone know when the final list of which teams will be playing this year(and fixtures) will be released?

Do the bottom two teams get dropped or just the bottom team?
If both do who is coming up?

Bottom 2 get relegated and the premiers of both South 1 and North 1 come up. On that basis Marcellin and Uni blacks go down and Old Brighton and Fitzroy come up.

However I am told that one club has been asked to drop out of premier Unsubstantiated rumour is Old Camberwell have asked to go back to North 1. Can anyone confirm this? If this is correct I guess one of those to be relegated might get a reprieve or a runners up from South or North 1 might get a chance.

Blacks finished second last? if this is the case they will be hoping so.... they wouldnt want to fall any further behind blues.... would be interesting to see how OB go in Premier and a good effort from Fitzroy considering they only used to be in North 2(their u19 1's side) only 4-5 years ago

Yeah the blacks did finish second last!
Aparently OB had lots of depth but none of the players are able to play a second year in the 19's. Also their school side wasn't special, with the exceptions of couple who are playing AFL and VFL.....

I’ve heard that quite a few of last years OB Sth 1 premiership team are eligible again so they should be pretty competitive. Has anyone else heard about a side asking to drop down? My mail is that it is OC but I could be wrong. Apparently that's why the 19s fixtures are still not finalised.

they must have a problem with recruiting or something... they did well considering it was their first season in premier

If Old Camberwell and Old Brighton don't go around in Premier Section in 2011. Should they keep the Blacks and Marcellin up ? Or should they get Werribee and Caulfield Grammarians as they were the runners up in North 1 and South 1 ?

RFS have you heard that OB are not interested in coming up to Premier? My mail was that only 1 club, believed to be OC had requested to go back to North 1.

I guess if a club voluntarily goes down then the 2nd last team in 2010 (Blacks?) should be given the option of staying up. I beleive that happened last year when Rupo requested to drop out of Premier.

Rooster - Past History indicates that Old Brighton don't like to play in the Premier Section of the Unders for reason unknown to me.

I personally thought that Old Camberwell did a very good job for first year up in Premier.

The simple reason for Old brighton not stepping up is that they like the success they get from the lower division. If they were to step up to real company they would struggle much the same as their seniors do in Premier A.

Tip for 2011 Beauy to win their first ever premier division under 19 flag!

So is it confirmed that OB is not coming up? I have been saying it was OC so apologies to them If I had this wrong.

To save any future guesswork does anyone know with any certainty which Premier division side has requested to go back down.

RFS you always seem to be on the money. Do you have any mail?

I reckon it maybe two teams that go down a level being ... OB and OC.

I would think the VAFA would ask for teams who want to go up to Premier section ... From there I would like to see a team like Caulfield or St.Kevs have a go at Premier Section. It would be a big call by some clubs to put their sides forward but doing this may help the clubs in the future with better quality coming through the club.

Thanks RFS. So is it confirmed that OB and OC have asked not to be in Premier in 2011? Fair enough for OC if they don’t think they can be competitive. At least they had a crack but a pretty poor effort by OBs if this is true.

So who should come up? The runners up from Sth and Nth 1 perhaps? Maybe the relegated teams will get a reprieve or they might ask a Premier A club whose 19s are in Nth or Sth.

Northern Bullants maybe.... they have been going well in u18 and now have an u19 side.... just a thought
