the best thing about moving into tech was the change in dress code... if I wear RMs and a wool jumper I'm well dressed

it's also the inverse of the corporate environment I'm used to, where the senior people set the minimum dress standard

round here the scruffier you are, the more likely you're important - our lead engineer looks homeless, he wears a beanie and a dressing gown to the morning standup

Im sitting here at my desk now in my big freeze beanie, a hoodie and tracksuit pants. I'll take the hoodie off and show my work shirt if I have any on camera meetings but other than that I stay in my comfortable clothes.

we dont wear suits to work anymore, havent for years. I might wear a nicer jacket if a client comes in, otherwise just jeans and tshirt in summer and ill have a jumper in winter

Generally speaking if meeting a new customer or doing a presentation I'll do a suit or jacket/chinos. If I know them I can just do the work jumper, or generally if it's a contractor I dress down a bit. (Have had sparkies hang shit on me for wearing a suit before ha ha)

I often don the work polo for meetings from home, even for internal meetings, shows some sort of effort I reckon (as I watch the NBA on my other laptop)

They're solid and will last a long time. Range is a bit limited but not a lot of good options for men's shoes in Australia.

Feit are apparently quite good too, but they're very expensive and way too fashionable for me anyway

Bullshit, you've gotta be the best dressed bloke on here.

Fashion work boots for people that would have zero idea what honest labour was..

I've got a RM Williams belt as a gift that I never wear, didn't realise how expensive their stuff was.
The boots are extremely good value, well-made and will last for years

The other stuff is nice but overpriced, RB Sellars is cheaper and much better quality
