This is harsh. This is VERY harsh. I get the 'white folk are the best-positioned ethnicity to succeeed in the United States' viewpoint but to call anyone mired in, often generational, poverty a "failure as a person" is wrong in my opinion.

Speaking as an avowed left-winger these are the people who are meant to be our base. The right wing wins them over by speaking to their insecurities (why can't you get a job? IMMIGRATION!) and people without hope will look to anything.

We lefties need to achieve concrete solutions to help these people. To win them back in a post-manufacturing and service-based environment.

America is behind almost everyone.

Trump wouldn't stand a chance in here or Europe. Parties and politicians like Trump get flogged in our elections and normally only have one mouth piece with a seat, like that Babet flog. Thinking they are talking for the imaginary silent majority.
It’s always been incredible to me how divisive every single thing seems to be over there.

RFK isn't a nutjob. But I wouldn't expect many on a football forum to have a phd or be literate in biology

Most the "crazy" shit he spiels is scientifically valid, and only appears crazy to those without a scientific background

He DID have a parasitic worm that ate into his brain though!

May 9, 2024

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday detailed the medical abnormality he experienced in 2010 that he said was caused by a worm that entered his brain and then died, marking his first public explanation of the incident.

Kennedy said he recalls experiencing “brain fog” and “having trouble with word retrieval and short-term memory,” during that period in a podcast interview on “Pushing the Limits with Brian Shapiro.”

He was initially told by doctors that he had a tumor in his brain, and was planning to have it removed before he met with another doctor who looked at images of his brain and said it didn’t look like a tumor, Kennedy said.

After the doctor measured the abnormality and determined that it hadn’t grown, Kennedy continued, “they said that this is almost certainly a parasite that got into your brain … it’s a parasite that’s very common in India where I had done a lot of environmental work.”

According to the New York Times, which first reported the incident on Wednesday, Kennedy had said during a 2012 deposition, which concerned a divorce from his second wife, that a doctor had told him his health issues could be “caused by a worm that got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died...”

Something like that has to have affected his faculties to a degree, depending on what the worm ate.

We've all got to be better. Let's not turn the US political nightmare into ours down here. Both sides need to be critiqued equally and fairly..this whole division of the left and right has for one ruined social media and media in general.
Here mainstream media mostly criticise alp and give lnp fairly free rein, while it’s social media that goes hard in lnp and seems to forgive “progressive “ politics.

Vivek or Vance in 4 years?

Or will it be based on the performance during that time?

Growth and positivity = Vance.
Stagnant or worse = Vivek.

Vance has a great opportunity to show he is a worthy president. Hopefully he's not really the dishonest prick that he has been throughout the campaign (just saying what was necessary to win) and he has in interest in governing, even some progressive policies?

No, I'm not holding my breath either.

I'm not as impressed by Vivek as some others as I think he's a bit shallow. And I think he might be in trouble winning enough votes due to his skin colour (a factor against Harris, unfortunately).

Also also; It's gotta be time to kill off the polling people/organizations yeah?

Either the sample sizes are too small, the questions too narrow or people have learned to just lie/dismiss things.

Or maybe people need to take notice when they give confidence intervals and other details?
