Autopsy V Freo

I like your line of thought, just surprised at how you viewed the game. Did you not think in general play that Freo had it completely all over us? Most of our goals were scrapped, and there was no real fluidity to our forward movements, other than when we caught Freo on the fast break. I know we were under manned, but I thought we got taught a lesson by a real disciplined finals team.
I thought we played as well as Freo allowed us to play. Yes our goals were scrappy but every side that has played Freo since they beat us the first time has had the same issues. Lets not forget they belted the Eagles 2 weeks back by plenty and they are a better side than us.

The problem with us at the moment is many of our players are still learning what to do and when to do it. Often when we need to put the foot down we slow up, and vice versa. Which is what got us in trouble tonight. When the Dockers closed things up our guys just didn't know whether they should attack them or chip it around. Hopefully over summer we work on that so that next year our players just act on instinct rather than looking like deers in headlights.

Oh well, thems the breaks. Is hard to find positives from that but here goes: 1) It Is very hard to beat anyone at subiaco and to lose by 22pts isn't as bad as it could of been, They had more to play for 2) I think the guys toughed it out today but sadly Once again we lose a game by our poor decision making and disposal execution, I think again today showed some glaring deficiencies that should be well noted by the footy department moving forward and a few players today would have had their papers stamped 3) If we win the last 2 games we finish on 11 wins which is another improvement on previous years, we haven't played the franchise teams twice either 4) Our percentage of 112.04 is the best for a long long time 5) This year we beat Hawks, Swans both likely to finish top 4 which we haven't done for a long time 6) We are still one of the youngest lists in the comp, we are getting tired towards the end but that is easily fixed with each pre season under our belts 7) Next year we will get back Foley Grimes Vickery (half our spine) and bachelor conca etc. 8) And on a lighter note Carltank may miss the 8 and that's something positive we can all share in. I suppose the only worry for me is our disposal today wasnt up to a decent standard, but when players are fatigued and having injuries these things will happen when the depth isnt there yet. Hang in there boys were on the way up, all we can ask for is improvement and effort and that's what we are getting

I actually thought Deledio had his best game yet under a tag.

What this game did was expose all our glaring weaknesses as always happens we come up against a good side in reasonable form that is able to excert any pressure. Still too many chronically deficient players who lack composure, skills or smarts. Even when Freo's movement broke down, they were able to recover as we were unable to anticipate and capitalise or we just gave it back to them.

Another long term problem that needs to be addressed is too many one armed tacklers and players that are too easily sidestepped - watch the eyes & the hips not the ball.

I must admit though, don't think I've ever seen a game where even the very bounce of the ball seemed to favour a team as much as it favoured Freo today. Umpiring of course was of the typical Subiaco standard, but we had to expect that going in.

On the positive- albeit in a frustrating way- side. - with the out of form Bummers & Port coming up - looks like we'll go a whole season with out 50 point or more loss. Too bad it'll be wasted on a 9th-12th placed finish. I'd still swap a few bigger losses for a few more wins. We *should* play finals next year, but I'll bet London to a brick that 44 points won't be our biggest loss even if we do.

I learned that Chris Scott was right. So many pole smokers who go to the footy in Perth, it is actually quite unbelievable.

It was a lot better than previous experiences for me at least. Except a bunch of teenage girls right behind me who had no understanding of the rules what so ever and no matter what happened Richmond were in the wrong and Freo were in the right.

Didn't matter what the umps did anyway, Richmond never looked like they were in it to win it. Scoreline flattered us and the true gap between the teams would have shown more if Fremantle were more accurate.

You have to remember the Dickers flogged the eagles by 10 goals plus, and they are a top 6 side. Our resilience levels are very high considering where they used to be

While i'm not happy with a loss, i also don't understand the negativity. These are the games historically where we have gone over and been smashed. Make no mistake, i made the call, i thought we had an 80 point belting coming our way.
Did 22 points flatter us? I'll say no. We actually we able to persist and scrap our way through the game. Our skill level was diabolical at times, BUT, It's bad footy to not make us pay. At Subi, Freo are a 5 goal better team.
Dimma being out coached by Lyon is no disgrace at this stage of his career, and what about the times we have beaten them under Dimma's tenure? Can't have it both ways. The Freo game plan absolutely chokes free running teams ie: us.
So you know what, yep, we lost, but who was really expecting us to win? Was 22 points a good effort, yep it was. So all the doomsayers, and negative nelly's out there who only show up after a loss, go smoke a pole.
Well played Tiggy's, let smack the Veruca's next week then Port. Any issues with my posting, pussies feel free to PM me, and i'll explain exactly what type of supporter you are.
Peace out

I also think people tend to forget how much of an experienced team Freo are, their backline alone would have played more games together than half our team has.

What was it like? Friendly folk?
Majority were great. I shouldn't lump all of them in the same boat.
But they did have a disproportionate amont of abslute knobs that I have never seen anywhere else. There were some outright nasty bellends there.

Is there a poster Tunksy on here? I remember seeing his name somewhere.
There was a guy two rows from me who had a Richmond guernsey with Tunksy on the back.

Yes there is Tuggs.

2) ... a few players today would have had their papers stamped 6) We are still one of the youngest lists in the comp

Um, yeah, so, on the on the one hand, the problem is that we have players whose papers have been "stamped" and, presumably, will be replaced by a batch of young, new players, but, on the other, the problem is that we have one of "youngest lists". Right, so how is the list supposed to get older when the solution is jettisoning experienced players?

Classic. He looked like he was having a good time.

Did you have a good time? Looked an awesome day over there. You should have zinced up and put on the mankini and got a nice tan.

Was almost too warm for a lilly white Vic to handle. 24 degrees. At least the sun didn't hit us until the 10 minute markl of the last.

Agree. Turned to KiwiTiger when O'Hanlon was lining up on the siren and said if he kicks this, it will be the most "flatteringest" 22-point loss in history. We never looked like winning.

I hope you "hydrated" then:p. What was the reaction to McGuanes 2nd miss? I am still trying to work out how he did that.
