I find it absolutely staggering (though maybe expecting too much of the VAFA hierarchy) that they would bring in this points cap, then not have a designated penalty for when a team breaches the cap. What could they possibly be doing in those offices that would mean still no resolution many weeks after the breach was identified?

The big league as we know is rules on the run so perhaps just taking their lead. Quite laughable really, as it seems open & shut to me. Breached the cap and you win, lose the 4 points. Breached the cap and you still lose, any score from that game is wiped thus impacting your %... just my take, but as I said when you bring in the rule - THAT'S WHEN YOU DETERMINE THE PENALTY. Not wait until the rule is broken then work it out.
What a good post. I was taken with the remarks by 'Bear' on the podcast Nattering with Nick ;) to the effect that the points guidelines may not have been as clear as they could have been. Which could possibly be the line the high horse power folk from OX are putting. Just had the inkling the HQ movers-n-shakers are moving closer to giving the powerhouse a way out. So I'm moving to the viewpoint put by the great Chazz.M.

FWIW my view is it's the responsibility of the club to ensure they clarify anything remotely ambiguous. Showing they are committed to the integrity of the points system by taking a strong position is super important as I see it.

Depends on the league, doesn't it. Caroline Springs self-reported a miscalculation and got docked 4 points and had their score zeroed. Another team knowingly and consistently played over (and won), because they used the league's obviously wrong figures and were too chickenshit to correct it. In my book they have the honesty and integrity of someone who hands a supermarket checkout kid a ten and then walks out smiling with change for a fifty. Anyway, I'll not go on about it and pollute the thread here, you can have a read of what went down if you care that much: https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/wrfl-division-3-2018.1068646/post-57654644

Old Melburnians to bounce back over Old Brighton
Collegians to be too strong for Trinity
St Bernard's at home over Old Carey
Uni Blues over De La
Old Xavierians over St Kevin's

DH 23 quickly becoming my favourite poster on this page. Interesting to note 12-14 Skob boys had a run around in various teams/comps last week, thinking this will be of great benefit this weekend (not enough to tip them however).

My tips:
OMs
Collegians
Snow Dogs
Xavs
Blues

BF Call: Battle of the forward pairs: Chopper, Goss + Waite, Kanakis = 20+ Goals

Hope everyone is well and rested. Great to have a nice long break and allow people to get away.
Wesley for me against the Hedges.
Snowdogs against the Jakschless Panthers.
Gazmen to salute against Braahton.
Blues to win at the Bell.
And for the big one...bit of a toss of the coin. Will go with the home team just, due to it being at home. SKOBafl.

Collegians by 36
Blues by 67
Panthers to 'Woofinden' against the dogs by 3pts
OM by 42
SKOB by 11

I saw that Woofer is in for the Panthers. Great in, but with no Mackie, Coull, Nichols, Jaksch IMO 4 of their absolute best, I think you are barking up the wrong tree here. Woof Woof..

I’m liking Wesley a lot. Won 6 if their last 7. The game they lost they dominated Xavs for 3/4 and Xavs had a blinder of a final term.
Great to see names like Hunt, Scott, Boucher, Cameron and Croft in the lineup. Wouldn’t be many games played between this lot in 19’. Schwab and Jackson look good. There is no big 3 this year, Wesley are right amongst it. Next weeks game against SKOB may decide 2nd place.

Still liking wesley?

SKOB won't lose a game for the rest of the season. Too much class, speed and toughness. Also, missing Waite, Brown, Gleeson, J Wood, Kemp, Hodges, Adducci, Coates among others...scary stuff

Seaton and Jones playing here at Sandy with Josh Wallis also playing for Footscray. Farrugia played in the young guns game yesterday whilst Parkes and C Gleeson are away for another week. Arnot went from the twos to Port Melbourne ones somehow.

Amazing what the club is producing at the minute DH. Kudos to those in charge. Their best 22 would mix it with VFL teams IMO.
