If Krueger could stay fit, and scale back on his kamikaze style, he would make a good pickup mid season. Can play as backup forward, defence and 2nd ruck. If Cameron and/or Neale go down, we don’t have a 3rd tall forward. Stanley and SDK could play there, but we can’t really afford to weaken our ruck stocks.

Unpopular opinion, but I’d rather Wiltshire than Danger up forward in the ones. Danger’s kicked a bag here and there but he has no forward nous. I’d rather he play 50%TOG in the midfield and have Wiltshire up forward doing damage.

Sucks for Wiltshire that we're so stacked in his position.
If he played anywhere else, and he did what he did on the weekend a couple more times, you could just about guarantee a debut in the next few weeks.
He's looked like class everytime he's been on the field, which admittedly, hasn't been often.
Do we have any options to counter the log jam down there?
I guess you could develop him as a wingman/mid, or push one of our other smalls up the ground a bit more, but it's all easier said than done.

Oh it's all possible, I'm just thinking in terms of what they're likely to do.
I don't think they're going to be in such a hurry to get him a game that they're going to move pieces around to accommodate him. They might for a week or two though.
So in the meantime, if Ollie could develop his craft up the ground that might open some doors for him a bit earlier.
The opposite of course is true, where we throw someone like Mannagh or Miers up there more often to fit him in...but we seem reluctant to do that unless it's post centre bounce.
We need a deeper midfield, and I really think Mannagh should run through there as much as possible. Played there in the VFL a fair bit, so maybe that is the plan?
One thing's for sure though, Wiltshire could definitely be another steal. Reminds me of a hybrid Miers/Stengle player. Lot of tricks and still very early into his development. Just needs a good run at it. Genuine possibility none of our draftees from recent years could be delisted - as they're all showing improvement.

Same here, Mannagh's in the Zac Bailey mould IMO.
He doesn't have to be in there full time, but throwing him in as an option 5-10 times a game wouldn't hurt us, put it that way.
He's shown he can do it at VFL level, he's strong one on one, and brings energy around the ball while remaining accountable...but we just refuse to pull the trigger on it for some reason.
Feels like the sort of move that would have arrested some momentum in the first half last week, or the third quarter of the Freo game.

Not really. Someone like mannagh or miers has to go to the midfield semi full time (mannagh has shown he can do it at vfl level) otherwise a Wiltshire or clohesy probably needs to be able to play on the wing or in the midfield if they want consistent games.

I think Mannagh needs to build a bit of fitness maybe first though. He didn't set the world on fire
I wonder if they see Mannagh strong body being able to used further up the ground . Mature strong body , he seems to have pace, a willing tackler ..not sure what he is like linking in play but with an overload of small options and less in the mid and down back ..it makes sense to at least look at options while building his game fitness.
Miers has a pretty unique gift at half-forward. IMO his talents would be wasted in the midfield
Literally anything. He had 5 disposals in the first half on the weekend, none of them anywhere near the F50. Get him up around the ball or off the ground.
