If we recruit well in the next 2 - 3 years we are going places , if we don't we are in strife

As my dear old dad likes to say "If the dog didn't stop for a shit, we'd have rabbit for dinner."

This is purely from page one of their match thread, just makes the win even more satisfying & funnier:

"No need to beat around the bush here, Collingwood should and will win this game. PIES BY 46 POINTS"

"There are only a couple of teams I'm not worried about playing whatsoever, and that's Brisbane and the Dogs. Neither have the capacity to exploit our weaknesses, and this should absolutely be a % booster. Not trying to be arrogant, but that's legitimately how I feel."

"Why shouldn't we be arrogant? The bulldogs are beneath us in every measurable category, we are simply a better club than them and will easily account for them tomorrow. They are a leech on our off field success and it's time to burn them !"

"Be surprised if this is closer than 14 goals."

Yes U R right I'm a Bigfooty self confessed expert ! Take it easy mate and enjoy the win with the rest of us.
We can all get angry again next week !
I'm happy with the win , this all started cause I said how can people be so up and down on here

Oh dear, disappointing for that scribe

You have much to learn my young padawan :D You think we're up and down now? If you were around for the past 2 years you would see how bad we can really be :D

What about:
"Good teams don't lose to shit teams like the Dogs."

Point is, EVERY other club's fans get dirty on their players and coaches (not sure, any bad-mouthing of Bucks yet?) after a loss.

Watched the end of your game as melbournes first half was a snooze and a half
Bloody awesome win by your boys I remember thinking jeez if only melbourne could play like that we could give the bombers a shake and sure enough we came out an did!

BTW Daniel Cross was instrumental in our win
Had a couple of HUGE smothers in the 2nd half and then went back with the flight and got crunched when the game was on the line late

Pinpointed a pass to salem to win the game for us
Fair to say I love crossy

Hoepfully Jones can back up this effort next week just a few things that I noticed from his game this week:

  1. He was attacking the ball repetitively even after the ball was on the ground he went after it and made sure to lock it down. There was one instance where he crashed a pack the laid a tackle won the ball ON THE DECK and handpassed it off to Crameri (who was shoved over the boundary line) it was like he was possessed the way he attacked it. He did give away a few free kicks in this area but I'd rather him doing that than not attacking the ball like he was at ground level.
  2. He was isolated one on one FINALLY and got the result with 4 goals (he should have had 5) but how much has his goal kicking improved he was so inaccurate last year and now he is slotting them easily. This is a complement to the coaches for working on this over the summer to get it to this level.
  3. HIS TACKLING. need I say more he was relentless and an absolute monster praying on the hapless Collingwood defenders like when he chased down Young that sort of thing is not what you'd think a 198cm key forward would be capable of doing but he did it not once but TWICE (Harry O' got caught by our KPF again mauled and is now traumatized so much he is going to change his name again). This is what sums this whole thing up:

2012 is actually the only year that Jones was a bad kick for goal. He has the occasional shocker but 68.39 is pretty favorable even accounting for sometimes missing the lot. Its good that he can consistently back himself to hit them from 45 out now though.

He hit the post too from a snap didn't he? Very easily could have had 6. I've been really impressed with Jones' goal sense lately, he's actually quite good with his snaps and even on the run.

He used to miss them from 20m out regularly though, I was genuinely shocked when he shanked that last one, I guess it was too early in the game for Liam 'Clutch' Jones ;)
