We are saying the umpires were shit, and they they paid soft frees to Melbourne all game
Melbourne board is saying the umpires were shit and cost them the game with a soft free vs Crameri, and that three softs frees resulted in goals

(Then again, what fan base ever admits the other team gets it worse. If the other team has more frees, whether 1 more or 20, must always mean one is getting screwed)

We are saying how the commentary was terrible and very biased against us
Melbourne board is saying the same thing

We are admitting that Jones will be rubbed out, but it wasn't intentional
Yet one of their posters called him cheap and a head hunter who deliberately did it (if I hear any of them mention Gia and his handballing attempt I will laugh so much, replays show he barely scraped him with his back hand softly, it looked like the Demons player was doing a text book soccer trick, exaggerate a little touch to the face as being hurt and hoping for a free kick, then miraculously getting back on his feet and running instantly)

Oh yes, bias from all forums at its finest

G'day fellas long time reader first time poster... Was difficult to watch but a win is a win, thought we were a bit up disciplined tonight particularly in the third which may have lead to the disparity in free kicks. Good to see stringer got a bit of aggro in him obviously stirred up pedersen and got into a bit of a knuckle with frawley towards the end but it's probably been a while since we had that in our side

Bias combined with heat-of-the-moment incidents/decisions makes fools of most of us, really.

great win guys really tough stuff - guess its better to win a tight one than loose it (and we did loose this game last year rd 12 or smthing) so im going to tick the box "better than i expected" and wait to see signs of more substantial progress over the next few weeks. Goes both ways. Thought it was absolutely pissweak of the football media to buy into the theory that they were robbed and that Jones is a thug after sticking up for Viney all week. Jones meant absolutely no harm by it, the impact from both ends looked similar except Terlich was lower going into the contest.

Couldn't believe the cheering the Melbourne supporters did though - made a huge amount of noise for Salem, unsurprising, footy fans love a cult figure, but Frawley? He's practically holding the club to ransom, why not boo him instead?

Anyway, I'll settle down from my raging non-alcohol induced mental fit and offer some rational thoughts. Say what you will about Jones but I loved seeing him in a couple of scraps given how disinterested he can look at times. Liberatore just has every weapon in his arsenal (had him for banker with a handicap of 10, 2 goals. Thank you!), Griffen was sublime at the contest and Dahlhaus just keeps quietly going about his business. Crameri was quite good, did his job as expected without a fuss.
Cross and Vince have been good additions for the Dees. Still not hugely convinced by their younger players, but in fairness the additions they've made make them a more balanced side as if they'd drafted well 6 or 7 years ago, so it's probably a better indication of their progression with those senior players at the contest. The Tyson move at the trade table is paying dividends too, so well done to them, glad they're making smart decisions more often.

That is why I was smiling at the irony of it all as I read through the Demons post game thread. I was thinking, hang on... they are saying the same things we are on our thread. Then again if all the stats and incidents were in reverse, all of us would be saying the same things as they are (ignore lopsided free kick count in our favour, the umpires cost us, this player is a thug etc)

Just amused me a little that's all
