This is a sensitive area for some. With that in mind, I'm going to remind a few posters a few things:
  • personal attacks are against forum rules. From this point, any attacks that are directed at another poster will be treated with a warning, then infractions and threadbans if it continues.
  • the spread of misinformation is also against the rules. This is taken very seriously by moderation, and you will be asked to support your opinion from time to time. If you cannot satisfy this, you will be provided an opportunity to retract your post; if you do not, you will receive an infraction and a threadban on that basis.
This is a forum for adults, and I'd appreciate you all treating each other appropriately.

Closed loop until Russians that sick of it, decided enough is enough.
No sign of it though.

No sign certainly. The thing is the RF has apparently made an extra $140bil in oil & gas sales at the inflated energy prices since the start of the war!! The Oligarchs won't be too upset if they're getting some of the action.

By all accounts, RF is selling discount oil to places like India, China & many other smaller places to counter the growing European/US embargos.

Longer term it will get harder for RF. Putin hopes to lock access to the Black sea & destroy Ukraine as a functional nation, as well as take over the export of grains to the outside markets from ports like Odessa.

Putin cares nothing for the death of his own troops or the rape, pillage & destruction they cause.

If you remember that alleged Ukrainian troop war crim months ago (in March) with what was posited as Russian POWs getting shot in the legs ... certainly haven't heard anything for a while. But now there's this:

Russian woman recognises conscript son in video allegedly showing Ukrainian soldiers shoot at Russian prisoners

A resident of the Russian town Nazyvayevsk, located in the Omsk region, has recognised her 20 year old adopted son, who is currently a conscript in the Russian army, Ivan Kudryavtsev in the video that allegedly shows Ukrainian soldiers shooting at the feet of Russian prisoners. They’re also shown to be interrogating the prisoners who are lying on the floor, bleeding, reports a Russian news outlet Meduza.

Ivan’s mother Nina together with his aunt Nadezhda, who also confirmed that it is him in the video, have asked the editorial staff to not feature their last names for safety reasons. “It’s his voice. Even before they took the bag off his head, I knew it was him,” said the soldier's mother.

“Ivan’s voice hasn’t broken in yet, it’s childlike, even though he’s 20. <…> And the lips in the video are his. Despite being covered in blood, it’s clear how plump they are. Even more so now that they had beaten him,” added his aunt.

According to Meduza, Kudryavtsev is lying with a bag on his head in the video. The man behind the camera—the faces of people interrogating the prisoners aren’t seen—is hitting him while asking to give up the spies' location. The prisoner starts saying something, then the bag is taken off of his head. His face is covered in blood, his eyes are open, and his swollen lips are twitching. Then he loses his consciousness, and the man behind the camera moves towards the other prisoners.

Meduza reports that on 29 April, the Russian Defence Ministry sent a letter addressed to Kudryavtsev’s mother to the military commissioner of Nazyvayevsk. It said that “conscript Kudryavtsev Ivan Ivanovich went missing in action.”

According to the soldier's relatives, he was recruited on 30 October, 2021, and sent to mechanized forces. The Ministry of Defence still hasn’t explained whether Kudryavtsev had signed a contract with the army, and if he had, why he was described as a conscript in the letter, notes Meduza.

The video that allegedly shows Ukrainian soldiers shooting at Russian prisoners’ feet appeared on social media at the end of March. The BBC and France 24 journalists managed to establish that it had been filmed at a dairy farm in the village of Mala Rohan in the Kharkiv region.

After the video had been published, Oleksiy Arestovych, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said that the images “are showing signs of a war crime” and promised to conduct “a serious investigation”. The results haven’t been made public yet.

Another coverage of the same news from Meduza:

Old Reddit threads discussing what is actually being said in the video [here] and a claim that the video was a fake developed by the Wagner Group [here].

Noticed while scanning these articles than Lyudmila Denisova got sacked for being a little too partisan!

Sad reflection of Russian society in general.
I actually thought they were a lot more progressed than this well over a decade ago but been a strong reminder that absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Russia in one step away from being a 3rd world country with poorly educated blue collar workers.
Russia doesn't want educated blue collar workers who would challenge the system

Interesting
Excellent follow up

15000 Russian millionaire's trying to leave Russia plus Russian business people. They would be fully aware that Russia has no future.

Interesting! I searched when I saw your post and yeah here's another reference:
The enemy tug "Vasily Bekh" went after the cruiser "Moskva". Ukrainian defenders hit the ship near the Zmeiny Island. On board were the ammunition of the Rashists, weapons and the TOR air defense system.

When I saw this video I thought it might have been the wreckage of the Russian helicopter downed near Zaphorizhe.

But while it indeed was a Russian aircraft, this is a new event near Belgorod in Russia, and what hit it? Power lines!

Russian attack aircraft Su-25 crashed in the Belgorod region. This is reported by Russian media. The plane hit a power line pole, but the pilot managed to eject and survived (sorry). Self-destruction of orc vehicles continues 👊 [link]

A Biden punching bag erected in Moscow:
In Moscow, a punching bag with a photograph of US President Joe Biden was put up near the Airport Gallery shopping center. People periodically come up and beat her, they write in the group district.

Yeah, as a follow up, here's some footage of Russian SU-25's flying low in Belgorod. I have no idea why they are flying so low in friendly territory but you would be sh!tting yourself if you're driving on the freeway and saw those coming your way!

Wow. You would hope that number is an exaggeration to gain sympathy with foreign powers to send weapons.

Otherwise you would think the UAF would be smarter than that and pull back to more defensive positions where loss of life is limited.

You would also hope that Russian losses are greater too to make military sense.
Seems the former (i.e. some exaggeration to gain sympathy).
