Thanks Hawks! Back where we belong. Even sweeter than 2008 I reckon because we had to rebuild, recruit, work hard, persevere and prevail. Our stars from 08 deserved a second premiership and guys like Stratts, Gunston, Breust, Puopolo were great today and earned their premiership. Bailey, 3 knee reconstructions and now a premiership, what a story. Brian Lake stood up under pressure better than I ever thought, great for him and great for our club obviously because we won our 11th! Smith's goal was awesome, I didn't think he could kick from a set shot from that distance but just goes back and drills it like a boss, just magnificent.

The "genius" coach and his team of maniacal tacklers and pressure players were outplayed and beaten at their own game with a brilliant display of fierce intent, commitment to the ball and class and skill.

A thoroughly deserved premiership for the POWERHOUSE team of the AFL. All of your players were wonderful, but Luke Hodge and Sam Mitchell - they are Hawthorn. I have the upmost respect for both of them, the manner in which they lead from the front is outstanding.

You are privileged to support such a wonderful club. Enjoy it everyone and know that Hawthorn has made a lot of people here in the West very very happy tonight

2013 premiers. 22-3 season. VFL premiers. Kennett Curse broken. In a prelim no less, bundling Geelong out in the process. Doesn't get much better than that. We have now ticked off the 10's in our streak of winning a premiership in every decade since the 60's too. Hopefully we can add to that tally before the 20's start.

We out-lyoned Lyon today. Was brilliant to watch. 22 players that all played their role. Hail to the second stringers: Puopolo, Shiels, Stratton, guerra, Breust and co - huge efforts.

Such a good finals series for the imports:
Hale, Gibbo, Lake, Gunston, Burgoyne all had huge moments and games in September. So happy for all these guys to now be hawthorn premiership players.
