Really serious issue. In the event that the trade goes through at 5 and 25 I think we should for safeties sake have a handful of designated gloaters, so that we are not all wiped out in one enormous ban slam.

I think the human element is irrelevant. Can you honestly tell me that Geelong would of been as accommodating to Christensen if he was under contract. Would you guys have so easily facilitated a trade to GWS if Rockliff wanted a change of lifestyle not Patfull who is 29 and not likely part of your next premiership tilt. At the end of the day all the clubs are trying to get what is best for them.

I fully accept your teams position that it would be really bad trade away any member of your young core who doesn't want to leave after what happened last year. But it is ours that losing Beams for only picks would set us back a lot and put us into complete rebuilding mode which the club is trying to avoid. Even if it means risking losing him for much less next year. Neither club is trying to screw the other over they just need different things from the trade, which is why I think it won't get done.

As for why we'd want Aish when he is only one year out of the draft he has had a year of playing footy at a high level and would be a lot less risky then either pick.

Mate.. your missing the biggest factor in all this, he is un-happy at your club, this significantly reduces your position in this. He has requested a trade to us, and we have a couple of decent picks we are willing to part with. We got 12 for Clark 3 years ago and he was arguably our most important player, we have never replaced him and still have a hole there, it set us back years. we lost a whole draft class last year for significantly less than their draft value, while opposition clubs gleefully picked over our bones - it left our list decimated. As Plough and others in the media keep saying "the deal is spot on", TBH.. if Rocky wanted out for family reason, under contract, I honestly would accept 5 and 25 in a heart beat and the club would too.. Collingwood are trying to do the 'eye for an eye' thing, if we lose and established player, so do you, its not how it works. It's so silly, and the consequences are going to be dire at the club, hopefully the playing group come forward and indicate they want to see the Trade done so he can be with his family, seems thats the only way to get things done these days.

I understand you Guys value him, but the entire football world are not with you on this, take 5 and 25 and get excited about Darcy Moore and 4 other picks inside the top 30, you can set your club up for a generation with those.
