I'm so tired of these boring, sluggish encounters with St. Kilda, especially since I know we're a far superior team compared to them.

We need to make sure we play the entire game on our terms, so the Saints are forced to mix things up and chase us all night. Our midfielders need to be decisive and direct and not enable the opposition to dictate terms, otherwise we'll get dragged back to their level.

While I admit I'm never over-confident no matter who we're playing and getting the 4 points is all that really matters, it would be good to end these scrappy battles that have become a habit when we play the ex-Swans.

How exciting would it be if Bazza had a huge game on his return from suspension? With the midfielders really clicking during his absence and kicking goals, a lot of us have been wondering what will happen when Big Bad returns. Will we be Hall conscious or will we leave things the way they are, with the added bonus of a big forward?

Goodes could be missing, which would be a big loss, but the Kennelly/Eski/Mattner combo is finally hitting it's straps and should step it up another level on the weekend. They gave us so much drive against West Coast and proved how vital they are to our chances each week.

This post might seem arrogant to some, but I think I'm just being realistic. If we want to take ourselves seriously and really challenge for that top four spot, then these are the games we need to stamp our authority on. It's not going to get any easier with games against the Pies, Crows, Hawks, Cats and Lions.

The Saints have more often than not started most games this season by getting out of the blocks quick. Problem is, they're a rabble for the next 2 and a half quarters. They blew us away in the 1st and probably should have put the game beyond doubt at Qtr time in Rd 1.

Goodes will be sorely missed if he is suspended, and i'm thinking he will get 1 week.

Lyon has the advantage of knowing what we're like more than any other coach in the AFL, but we have the added advantage of playing at home. But dare i say it, we could be in for a tidy win if we break even in the 1st Qtr.

They definately aren't the best team to watch this season. Very ugly actually. But hey, who doesn't say that about us? Though, things are a bit different this season as opposed to others.

Don't care if we play ugly or whatever just please win against the Saints i hate them more than North(not the team tho) and Wce combined.

ffs Goodes is probably the most frustrating player to watch, when he hit that bump on the weekend i wanted to struggle him through the TV, i dont understand why he has been on the angry pills for a few weeks now he was very reckless against Port and lucky to not be reported back then.

Goodes and Hall back, so its one more stepping stone in that direction. I do hope we bury them, losing like that in Round One was disheartening.

I hope that history does not repeat itself with a terrible wet track when we played the Saints at the SCG on a Saturday night (either last year or the year before) and we lost. Personally I hope it's going to be a dry track, but the weather forecast is not looking promising.:(

if its wet we'll struggle we seem to want to play dryweather football no matter what the conditions and by the time we realize we are generally 4-5 goals down. its a must win because as well as we're playing (4 wins on the trot) one or two slip ups and we'll be fighting for 8th place with the saints

as for burying the saints i'll be happy with a 4 goal win they're still a decent side especially if they gather some confidence

Too right and it's as frustrating as hell to watch. The other thing that pisses me off is that every time we play in the wet the commentators inevitably comment that the conditions will suit us.

Forecast isn't looking great -

Saturday Showers.

Definately a must win game for us. We were appalling against the Saints in R1 this year, and have largely struggled against them in recent times. We can't possible afford to drop games like this if we are a genuine threat this year. Like the Weagles game, we should win on paper. But again I'm not as confident as I should be. I'm with SMFC; the first quarter will be telling. We have to come out breathing fire and not go down our usual 'lets play catchup' path.

Hall is a big in. Just hope it stays dry

I've got extra incentive for it to stay dry and anyone going to the game will probably understand. So .. footy/rain gods, please please keep it at an acceptable level.

If Rossy and Roos didn't know each other so well and how each other coach then we would have un-predictable exciting games but we get a mexican standoff instead.

I can't believe we beat you round 1.

I can't believe we got within a kick the way we played. Horrid, horrid start to the season.

After the Saints start in the 1st qtr, we were lucky not to be 7 or 8 goals down. But we got back into it due to the resilient character in the team. Could have almost snatched it in the end.
