If we pick him up as a rookie he becomes dirt cheap coverage that isn't part of tpp and a one year deal so helps us out without costing much. Also freed up a primary list spot so we aren't carrying 5 rucks on our list of 40

He knows the players and the game plan and the club knows what they get. He can play the same role at BH as TV plays in seniors while Pitts plays #1 ruck and Surman plays tall forward or back.

I think it's a good fit for next year

Agree. I'm looking forward to the thread title changing to 'Welcome back, Jack'.

Can I be first in with a request to rename this thread "Welcome Back Jack" once it's all made official?

Excuse me, I must go now and count my eggs to work out how many chickens i'll be raising.

A couple of options, and I reckon we can spin it any way we like...

If we pick him in ND, it stops us picking up a clogger, or

If we Rookie, it's because someone slipped to our 2nd pick that we didn't expect.

We are looking to go HUGE on FA next year!

Would the benefit be to pick him up as a rookie so therefore we can determine his contract length? As in, if we take him in ND, he has to get a set 2 year deal and set wage?

I'd suggest wage not the issue, more so flexibility re a 1 or 2 year deal

Thread should currently be titled "Hit The Road Jack" until we get him back.

Great he is gettign another go, i still feel we need better proper ruck coverage than McEvoy and Pitt though....

Jack has taken a while with some set backs , I think he is on the brink, he definitely has got Hawk, in him, he never gives up, he maybe needs some polish but he is now coming into the big big mid twenties age power time for big men, I always liked the Carlton big fellow Kruiser, he had some set backs too, but he has settled, stays on the turf most of the time and is a great player, I think Jack can do that, Jack can also play forward , I know people have said he has had some kicking issues , minor I'd say, he has notched up 4 goals in a game , senior or reserve I'm not sure. But McEvoy needs some good back up, I am very sorry about Cegs too, he is made perfectly for what he does on the ground for us, and I think is the number one, fancy him and Big Nic Nat going on the same day, unbelievable, footy injuries these days seem to be regular , I guess the game is a little too fast , I don't know, but you sure have a freak out when someone goes down holding their leg or knee every time.

Can we do it to Welcome Back Kotter music?

Just thinking this. When would Cegs come back?
Cegs was in the gym smiling in one of the videos the other day which was good to see.
I'd almost write this year off completely considering how late in the year he did it and the fact he's a ruck

He's not a ruck though really. We only have two of those available in McEvoy and Pitt.

No but like TV can play that forward / second ruck role better than Pitt and at VFL level if needed he could ruck more so the kids can actually have a chance in the middle if Pitt got called up to seniors
