I reckon that ACL couldn't have been at a worse time for him. He'd be best 22 or at least not even in the 'consider delisting' conversation if that didn't happen. I haven't been this disappointed in the possibility of a player being delisted in a long, long, long time. I personally don't see what Hutchinson brings at all and would've happily cut him after 6 months if I were in charge.
What do you see in him though?

I was really disappointed with Culley when I first watched him play AFL after the big build up following his draft. Very flat footed. Gets good tackle numbers because he's always second to the ball.
He seems to have a bit of forward craft but we have enough tall forwards and he isn't pushing out any of them.

As for Hutch, I agree that he hasn't shown a lot yet but he's a bit shorter and has speed so can be a bit more versatile. They may be able to find a position for him during the preseason but he may in a similar situation this time next year.

Cutting a bloke 4 months before we drafted him? Seems a little OTT...

Hutchinson has potential and has been the sub twice so h averages less than what he should

I admit we havent seen much of it at AFL level but Hutchinson has good height, speed and a really strong mark. Both AFL quality traits that Culley doesnt have.

He hits the contest with a head of steam too, which is a huge difference maker. Reckon he definitely makes it at AFL level if his body is good.

Hopefully Culley gets to play the last few rounds in the seniors with more time in the middle. He needs time to prove he ain't delist fodder.

He has had enough good moments and good form in the WAFL to keep persisting with IMO, but time will tell.

We're going to have plenty of midfield options next year. Yeo has the inside mid role so he'd only be insurance if he's injured. Personally I'd rather we start exposing other young players with speed like Hough, who I reckon could be great in the middle in a negating role when needed like Stenglein did for us. Hough, Ginbey, Hewett, plus whichever Mid we pick this year will all gets minutes as inside/outside mid options ahead of Culley. Then there's Hall too who we invested a lot in. Probably gets delisted.

pfft, we will get a tall forward or a HB flanker

How did he do in the GF sprint, looks like he didn't make it in the final heat but how did he actually do in his heat because it is well known that he's slow and because of his lack of pace, he probably won't make it as a mid at AFL level.

From the average footage it looks like he came about 7th in his heat.

The clips I’ve seen it looks like no one tried in a couple of the heats. They were there for a free ticket to the GF and sponsor beers I imagine
