Just watched the highlights of Duggan and I think the kid will be a star. Looked pretty quick too. i think he might play a few games off half back in 2015. For all the talk I think both Wellar and Duggan will be stars for their teams.

Liam Duggan to AFL Draftee has been a story widely anticipated in Victoria for a number of years and he might not
be fully appreciated for who he can become outside of the Eastern States but rest assured every AFL club has had him on their radar for a long time.

He has captained all his junior sides and has been a winner wherever he's played, won sporting scholarships , was invited into the AIS/AFL Academy and was awarded the Ben Mitchell Medal , the academy's highest individual honour, voted on by his peers as the player that embodies team values, such as courage, leadership and trust on and off the field.

His coach at Bacchus Marsh, Dougie Hawkins said in Liam there are no negatives and he reminds him of Robbie Flower with outstanding balance, poise and skill, ticking all the boxes. He kicks both sides, has a great vertical leap , exceptionally strong overhead and has the tank of a marathon man.

AFL.Com said Duggan is the player you want with the ball in his hand if you need someone to control a situation. He'll pick the right time to slow things down but also have the nous to be ready to take the game on often dragging his team mates over the line in tight games. He is a game changer who influences results much like Hodge and Joel Selwood.

He left boot has been described as a lethal weapon with which he could shoot the wings off a fly such is his accuracy.

It was suggested that most recruiters thought of Duggan as the 2014 draftee most likely to succeed with no real weaknesses and absolutely no risk, a player every club would love to have.

This write up convinces me. I am now officially on the Liam Duggan bandwagon. However, I will also be patient and give him two years to develop as I did with Daniel Kerr, Ben Cousins and most other talented draftees. Welcome to our club Liam.

RE: Duggan and GC, I reckon they were still very keen on him and thought he would make it to 15. But Wright wouldnt. So the only way to get them both was to pick Wright first.

9. Moore (Coll)
10. Lever (Geel)
11. Cockatoo (WCE)
12. Ellis (Rich)
13. Durdin (Freo)
14. Goddard (Adel)
15. Duggan (GC)

Think thats how they expected it to play out. They thought we were the only other club keen on him between their picks and when they heard we were gonna take Cockatoo they thought Duggan would get to 15 anyway.

I think our interest in Cockatoo was smokescreen to make GC think Duggan would slip past us.

Pure speculation of course

I like the way you think son.

I see the word vanilla thrown around a lot on these forums.
According to the internet, by which I am often extremely swayed by (since I have no brain of my own, nor any thinking), vanilla is a complement.

Vanilla is one of the most complex spices in existence making it the second most expensive spice after saffron - See more at: http://www.spicesherpa.com/spices/vanilla/#sthash.0fKk6smQ.dpuf

Well hot damn. One of the most complex spices.
That must mean that:

Priddis - Vanilla aka P-God. Extreme slowness, followed by ridiculous ball winning and contested ability, with poor disposal and decision making, yet brownlow winning style, strong character and work ethic and who can forget the blonde curls that women can only dream of? Yeah, that's pretty damn complex.

Now we go to Duggan. Aka D-God, even though he hasn't played a game yet. Poise, natural ability, skill, high character, high IQ. He's complex in which he's a blend of Murphy/Cotchin/DalSanto/Cousins/Kerr/Judd/Ablett all kind of grinded up in some mortar and pestle, and formed into him.

And then finally we have Sheppard. Aka Lamb-God. Who is just allround bloody fantastic.

TLDR:

Merry Christmas to Liam. Special day. 11 = 1+1 = 2, 2 is in 25, it is also a feature in the number 12 which is December. He will be the 5th best draft pick so 25.

So long as you don't mean the 5th best of our 5 draft picks then I wholeheartedly agree with all of the parts of your post which I understand, which is to say, very little of it at all.
