Really pleasantly surprised how much ball he has been getting and also in him showing more in link up over this weekend in particular. I never saw this trajectory when I started watching him play at 14 and 15. I didn't see the trajectory really last year either. I saw the explosive attributes but thought his average kicking and average disposal numbers were par for the course. His inside game has also been much better than I thought it would be at this stage. The tackling, athletic ability and intensity however I never doubted.

I owe ROYAL EAGLE an apology as I didn't see this level of player, particularly so early on from what i'd seen of him as a junior.

Amazing think he dominated in a game where we lost the hitouts 69 - nothing, in a midfield missing half of it’s inside mids, against a full strength Cockburn side all while having limited rest.

This posts stand out so much in 2023 because the tendency (not you specifically but generally in the world today) is to double down on initial opinions even when confronted with new information.

Was thinking last night, and this is no knock on Sheezel but rather just where we’re at: happy with Ginbey over Sheezel. That’s before you get to Hewett as a nice bonus.

Sheezel might be a star, has certainly started well and been put in a role to accumulate, but Ginbey is exactly what we need. Can’t draft every bit of talent, North got a good one, we got a good one. Crack on lads.

Sheezel might be a star, has certainly started well and been put in a role to accumulate, but Ginbey is exactly what we need. Can’t draft every bit of talent, North got a good one, we got a good one. Crack on lads.

Our good one just happens to be a local coalface bull you can build a premiership side around, as opposed to a cherry on top finisher. It was the right choice and continues to be reinforced as such the longer this season goes.

Reckon we could have gotten more than we did for trading pick 2 in most other scenarios which is the only disappointing part of the mega trade.

Yep Sheezel has definitely lived up to his billing, but considering we got Hewett and Ginbey it seems like it was not a bad deal at all. Also the flight risk and all - still early days obviously, but I think this could turn out to be a great draft. When was the last time we got a midfielder with a Rising Star nomination? Is it Luke Shuey?
