In the end Hampson is what you club needs. Maric is always going to be our main Ruckman. All that Hampson does is provide a bit of depth and insurance if Maric goes down. This draft is looking very shallow so I don't mind if we gave up our second round pick for him. From the impression I get from this years draft is that the talent past pick 20 drops of dramatically.

I agree with the support fort for Hampson, I'd go a step further and suggest Hamson may soon become our no 1 ruckman. More athletism around the the ground, with Maric up forward to straighten us up.

I did!! But living in SA I see a lot of Crows games. I am happy enough with Hampson as a back up for Ivan. Doubt we are paying him much, just promising more opportunities.

General consensus is that there probably isn't 30 "decent kids" in this year's draft. Which, IMO, is what makes it a reasonable trade. Time will tell, I suppose.

And Carlton are paying 2.8 million for an overrated player with dodgy ankles. Haha, if i had just woken from a coma i would have sworn it was the 1st of April and Mick was up to his old high jinks.

Not thrilled by the trade, but I see the logic. It will ease the load on Maric and allow him to spend more time resting up forward rather than rucking 80-90% of the game. So it will mean more of these:

Because he always had 'p-potential'. That ship has kinda sailed now tho given his age and injury history.

At any rate don't sledge me, it's not like I changed my opinion and came on here to troll. I never liked the deal for you guys before, and I still don't. Unless we get lucky and find a gem at 30-odd in the draft I doubt either club will get much from the trade.

From his highlights package he clearly has talent. Great overhead mark and great off the mark. Whether he can apply that consistenly at the Tiges remains to be seen.
