Only the most delusional and/or naive think that the drug culture around the AFL was exclusively confined to the West Coast Eagles.
During those dark times I remember no other club president or coach condemned the Eagles as they knew they couldn’t guarantee any of their players weren’t doing the same. Plus there was the injunction club which everyone ignores. Paul Roos wasn’t shy about it though and he is still bitter about our 2006 premiership. The fact that Roos wasn’t on the last episode of “On the Couch” after our 2018 premiership would indicate he is still bitter.

TBF, I've never heard Roosy say anything negative about our 2006 win.

In fact, when interviewed and asked was he upset the Swans nearly went back to back, he
said "would've loved to have won 2 but easily could've lost 2".

Gave nothing but praise to WC and Woosha and said he though 1-1 was a fair result.

Roos usually takes off to America after the season.
Thinking that he would "boycott" OTC because WC is laughable really.

Salty Geelong supporters and hungrytiger spreading terrible buzzes. AHHH some thing never get old. Just like Kelly 2020 Brownlow confirmed.

Who do you guys think will benefit most from TK's inclusion on ball this year out of the surrounding midfielders and who (if any) do you think he steals a few touches from?

I was thinking that guys like Yeo and Gaff could really benefit from his ball use out of the middle, Shuey will just do Shuey things I assume.

Heard that Dom.S is the one to make room for him in the guts also.

Shuey and Yeo the main beneficiaries IMO
They were the ones the opposition tended to tag, so having Kelly there as well will free them up.

Gaff was playing inside mid last few years, but will probably move back out to a wing where he is most dangerous.

Redden and Sheed probably the ones to feel the hurt most from Kelly being part of the rotation as it will cut down their time. Sheed could move back to a forward flank, but not where he plays his best. Redden could be used as a tagger which would push Hutchings out of the team.

Sheed will be on-ball

Looking like a pretty average draft from the top end that one.

McCartin is on the verge of retirement.
Pickett is dead, also fat.
Cockattoo has barely been sighted
Corey Ellis career is basically over at Fold Coast
Ahern has underachieved with 18 games and can't get a look.
Jarrod Garlett managed an underwhelming 30 games.
Sam Durdin for north is finally getting a look but 19 games in 5 years is fairly lacklustre. Even Brander will beat that.
Boekhurst was one of the more bizarre picks i've witnessed by Carlton. Big fail.
Peter Wright is OK, Caleb Marchbank is fairly average.

Better picks from the first round include;

Duggan who has a flag and strung together a solid 85 games to be one of the better selections.
Darcy Moore is a good player when he's not injured. Petracca's whole career has been hype but you can't call him a dud.
Lachie Weller, meh. Jake lever bleh. Heeney has been the pick of the bunch and he was a bullshit academy selection at pick 18. Degoey is probably next.

Objectively that is a terrible draft. Duggan looks a steal and in other years pick 11 for Duggan looks a bust.

It really is a lottery.

I remember people talking about that draft like it was a super draft. Shows what a lottery it is.

Degoey
Heeney
Moore
Duggan

Would have had Heeney 18 months ago as the best but he seems to have plateaued off a bit where Degoey is going from strength to strength.

Darcy Moore is a gun I reckon, it's a real shame his body has been so unreliable.

The Duggler...just the really solid citizen we thought he was going to be. Not flashy but generally does the right thing (barring some ugly kicking at times) Hopefully we see plenty more of him straight lining the footy this year.

There's some decent players later on in the draft. Harris Andrews, Touk Miller, Caleb Daniel, Maynard, Toby Mclean..

But from a first round perspective, it's fairly meh.

Makes me even happier picking up Nelson with pick 51 considering he's played more games (55) than a large chunk, if not most of that draft.

76 players taken in the National draft, only 24 have played more games than him currently.

I reckon it’s also a credit to our development and systems as well.

Maybe had we drafted one of the spuds instead of Nelson then they would have turned into a serviceable player instead of the spoon they turned into at Fold Coast. Vice versa, Nelson may have gone full potato had he been drafted by some minnow like Norf.
