Stoked for both of these guys.

Haven't seen much of Gibbons in the VFL but I thought he was a left-footer initially, given he was kicking on his left so casually in those highlights. Very impressive.

Really keen to see Cottrell run out in a few games, incredible endurance which I hope the club can harness with a few specific roles. Could start as a tagger?

With the information coming out of CFC, I can see why they picked Gibbons.

I reckon he'll surprise a few in the coming years.

When you get overlooked and face such adversity, when your chance comes, you take it with both hands and leave no stone unturned.

I was checking my emails over & over today for an email from the club announcing the signing of these 2. I was over the moon when the email finally turned up. Then to see the video showing Bolts making the announcement & the reaction from the boys, my eyes became very watery.

After being overlooked so many times, Gibbons just kept on playing the best footy he could in the VFL & then when invited to train at the club he has, from all reports, worked so damn hard making it impossible for the club to let him go.

As for Cottrell, after missing out in both the National & Rookie Drafts, he must have been contemplating where to go next with his footy. No doubt the invitation to train with us would have come as a bit of a shock to him, but like Gibbons, he has done the hard work over the last couple of months & can now put the disappointment of the National & Rookie Drafts behind him & play with the club his grandfather called home for a short period in the 1950s.

This is the type of positive news we have needed after some of the recent negatives which have hit the club.
