His contest on the wing where he flew for the ball in a pack, was the person to crumb his own marking attempt and then follow up immediately with two tackles to end up winning a holding the ball free for the team was amazing, utterly amazing.
9:44 left in the third.
yes it was huge! reminiscent of Cyril's effort on the wing in the 2008 Granny!

The roar from the Hawk faithful to him was great too

I didn't get a clear view on the telecast but Calsher laid a tackle on the far wing which looked a little dicey. The Crows player seemed to get rolled in the tackle over onto his neck / head.

Hopefully nothing to answer for, but I did worry about it at the time. 🤞🤞

Still can't believe the floor impact this guy is having as an 18yo KPF, I can't think of anyone in recent years like it.

As they said in the commentary, he was having a massive impact on play, ignore his stat sheet. He's won over Gary Lyon who I don't mind as a commentator.

When it all clicks together for this kid, geez, he could be bloody anything, so awesome to be pumping games into him at 18!

I think giving him games then subbing him off isn’t a bad strategy…

It's a master stroke. It allows Bruest to keep playing with his troubles, and gives Calsher 75 percent game time each week.

Incredible strategy given we'd be without either one, and the addition of experience at the end suits our score heavily and defend late style of recent times.

Fierce player and just looks built for the modern game. Far stronger then he appears.

That giant bag at Beaumaris is looking a bit more relevant now.

You could see it in his early VFL games, getting multiple chances and then missed a few times when he'd worked himself free of a defender.

Once he's confident he's going to become more accurate kicking at goal, and by then the maturity in every other direction will be there too.

53% TOG vs Adelaide.

Great pick up . That was understated brilliant play .

I remember asking someone in here (I think Strapping Young Lad) what the chances of us drafting up Calsher as a FS around about this time last year and the answer was that it wasn't looking good for the kid. Either we told him to hit cruise control because we were going to select him or the more likely in that he's put in a dramatic amount of work and the rapid improvement is staring to show.

As I said in another post I was one of the ones that thought a debut this season was slim and I'm happy to have been wrong. So happy for the kid and all his family especially his old fella watching him from above.
His rate of improvement from the beginning of last year to now is stunning. Credit to the kid, he has worked hard and absorbed everything!

Dear and Watson is the future of our forward-line. Just as Day and Newcomb is the future of our midfield. (Hopefully Bailey Smith next year, along with a transition for Weddle as well, in the near future) It’s probably our back line now that needs a little bit of more work.

It is so exciting to see how quickly the team has progressed in the past 12 months, it’s almost 2006/2007 levels of improvement. Dear is a big reason for that, his development is astounding. Full credit to him.

So true. And not just absorbed it, he has the ability to emulate it on the park.

People are taking notice too. Commentators are all getting on board now.

Bus getting so packed now, the axels are squeaking!

Would love to see him play full games but it’s probably best to continue to manage his minutes where we can.

Means he can really push himself and work on his tank, knowing he comes off and Breuat plays a quarter.

The challenge for Breust and Dear comes if someone else gets injured early. But youd assume the club has a plan for that.

He is showing just as much if not more in his first year as what No.1 draft pick Cadman showed last year

And Cadman has showed significant improvement this year with more strength and size.

We have a serious player

I agree, if we had taken Dear as a top 10 pick we would be pretty happy I would say. Love watching him play - extremely competitive, great defensive efforts and second efforts, great contested mark.
