If Battle chooses us then I can’t see how DGB survives, but then again Frosty is not getting any younger.
If Frosty keeps playing the way he has this season, he should be permafrost for next year

You need to read more if you think that.
No people need to stop acting like the criticisms of him are because he isn’t a superstar yet, that’s flat out not true.

It is true. There are plenty in this thread and others calling for him to be delisted/traded because he hasn't delivered immediately.

We're not talking about people who have criticized him, we're talking about people who have flat out said we should delist/trade him.

Difference between being upset he isn’t a superstar and questioning if he will make it when he for the most part has struggled to seperate himself from the rest at VFL level.

No one is mad he isn’t a superstar yet

I replied to a comment saying posters had spat the dummy because he isn’t a superstar yet, I simply said that no one is doing that.

Some think he should be traded/delisted because he has shown almost nothing yet which is a completely different discussion. Whether you agree with them or not.

I think you are really splitting hairs cause you think this is aimed at you. It probably isn't but for some reason you feel like it is and going hard to defend the position.

No I just find the attacking of a fair opinion silly, while i think we should give him another year I don’t think it’s an awful opinion to be disappointed in his output and question whether he is going to make it.

I was just taking the mick.

There are plenty calling a young kid a bust though or calling for him to be delisted. Maybe they are right and maybe they aren't but you don't get points in my books for being the first to call a Hawk a bust.

We already had some posters writing Denver off after his first game back from injury. Give the kid some time.

It may be premature to call him a bust but I have found the majority of the discussion around him in here pretty fair. Will always be a small loud minority but most acknowledge he deserves a little longer but it’s time to put up and show something.

I've no problem with fair criticism. He's got a lot of things to work on. Even the most optimistic Hawk supporter would be silly to think otherwise.

I do take issue in so called supporters calling a young 22 year old kid a bust. Especially a KPP player. They take a lot of time.

There are only 5 players in the AFL who have played more than a handful games as a KPD this year as a 22 year old or under.

Weddle, Mac Andrew, Draper, Borlase, and O'Donnell.

I wouldn't make too much of it - just saying he has plenty to work on - which was the tone of nearly all the VFL player reports this week - more focus on the negatives than the positives. Zane in a grumpy mood for some reason or other.

I'd go the other way, it's pretty negative for a public facing document.

The different interpretations of the same event involving DGB fascinates me. As an exercise in trying to understand the viewpoint of others, I invite anyone to watch a one minute patch of the Box Hill game on the weekend, from 17:20 in the first quarter. Let me know what you think.

Let's not make broad assumptions from one event, I just want to know what you think is going on in his head. I think he is pushed off the ball fairly easily, and is embarassed and instinctively reacts by pushing his opponent. The post happens to be there, it's non malicious. The free kicks is caused by his instinctive response to his embarassment. What do you think?

I read that report on DGB and it was pretty brutal to be honest. I think maybe the coaching staff are getting a bit sick of the ill disciplined acts?

It's one thing to struggle with fitness and strength, that's going to take a while to fix, but there is really no excuse for those kinds of brain fades as a professional sportsperson.

Interesting though that Zanes analysis was so harsh as stats wise at least it's probably one of the better games DGB has played for a while at VFL level.

I suspect that the frustration was coming from the fact that his mistakes almost always resulted in a shot on goal. He needs to find a way to stop that. Dipper would always clean someone up on the wing, not 10m out from opposition goal.

DGB should be sitting down and having a looooong chat with Frost.

I think the coaches are feeling that talking in pvt isn't getting the message through, hence the public admonishments to force him to break habit.

If he still doesn't learn, we atleast know we tried every tool in the kitty.

4 years later in a professional environment and DGB doesn’t even look to be VFL level.

Not sure how 4 years in a professional system = immediately.
People have been into him for a few years. And it has continued even though he has been injured and coming back from injury.

I agree, but it is now 4 years later. We are looking at the player today.
I'll give him the back of this season to see where he is at. He missed half of 2021 with a knee injury and half of this year with a toe injury. I think they'll give him another year to fully assess.
