Why would anyone trust the word of a guy that calls out screamers from the bleachers to try and look like he's over and above the crowd? He's a flog, a con artist with no bandwidth for internal reflection who thinks every thought that pops into his head was sent from Xenu himself with divine precedence. He started a damn crypto-finance swindle, pitching himself as an analyst with so much brainpower that he's an expert in everything he casts a second thought towards. I'm alright with some outrageous footy takes, but people who perpetuate that pseudo-logic finance rubbish don't deserve the airtime.

I know it's all opinion based and I don't totally agree with the exact order below but it's great to see a little bit of love for Dylan Moore in this 2017 re-draft. The kid was a bees d**k from being delisted before that last game against the Suns so to turn it around the we he has is extraordinary by DM. Pretty sure that's the draft we used most of our picks to bring in Tom + JOM so it just goes to show that you can get gems anywhere late in the draft if you have good scouts.

Original 2017 Draft order:
1. Brisbane - Cameron Rayner
2. Fremantle - Andrew Brayshaw
3. Carlton - Paddy Dow
4. North Melbourne - Luke Davies-Uniacke
5. Fremantle - Adam Cerra
6. Collingwood - Jaidyn Stephenson
7. St Kilda - Hunter Clark
8. St Kilda - Nick Coffield
9. Western Bulldogs - Aaron Naughton
10. Carlton - Lochie O'Brien
11. Greater Western Sydney - Aiden Bonar
12. Adelaide - Darcy Fogarty
13. West Coast - Jarrod Brander
14. Sydney - Matthew Ling
15. Brisbane - Zac Bailey
16. Western Bulldogs - Ed Richards
17. Richmond - Jack Higgins
18. Brisbane - Brandon Starcevich
19. Gold Coast - Wil Powell
20. Richmond - Callum Coleman-Jones

Re-drafting the 2017 AFL Draft:
1. Sam Taylor (pick 28 - Greater Western Sydney)
2. Aaron Naughton (pick 9 - Western Bulldogs)
3. Andrew Brayshaw (pick 2 - Fremantle)
4. Luke Davies-Uniacke (pick 4 - North Melbourne)
5. Cameron Rayner (pick 1 - Brisbane)
6. Zac Bailey (pick 15 - Brisbane)
7. Dylan Moore (pick 67 - Hawthorn)
8. Noah Balta (pick 25 - Richmond)
9. Oscar Allen (pick 21 - West Coast)
10. Darcy Fogarty (pick 12 - Adelaide)
11. Adam Cerra (pick 5 - Fremantle)
12. Bayley Fritsch (pick 31 - Melbourne)
13. Liam Ryan (pick 26 - West Coast)
14. Tim Kelly (pick 24 - Geelong)
15. Charlie Ballard (pick 42 - Gold Coast)
16. Harrison Petty (pick 37 - Melbourne)
17. Liam Baker (rookie draft - pick 18 - Richmond)
18. Brandon Starcevich (pick 18 - Brisbane)
19. Brody Mihocek (rookie draft - pick 22 - Collingwood)
20. Ed Richards (pick 16 - Western Bulldogs)

Moore is a gun, but you are being very generous.

Cerra is ahead of Moore. Kelly has played at a higher level, but has been too patchy at WCE. If he sorts himself out then he'd be higher.

Fritsch has kicked 55 and 59 goals over these last two seasons in a row. You'll be hard pressed finding anyone that rates Moore ahead of him based on current output.

It's hard to see what he's basing it on considering how high he's rating Fogarty (10) and Rayner (5) when both players have only very VERY recently started to show anywhere near what should be expected of them. Fogarty in particular seemed like a probable bust up until the last half of this season just gone.

If I'm being generous, I think the Kelly rating is that he's probably already played his best footy where others are continuing to improve.

Moore was only one of two players to average 20 touches and a goal, average 24 touches and 4 clearances when played through the midfield this year(over 7 games). Cerra isn't ahead of Moore.

It doesn’t relate to his football analysis, which is also A-grade horse 💩.

There’s only one guy on the list who has won a Leigh Matthews Medal (Brayshaw). He’s clearly been the best. Rayner is lucky to even be in the top 20. He’s been carried for the majority of his games and only started to show something decent in 2022.

Personally, I think Knightmare is the draft “guru” equivalent of Tom Browne fellating David King whilst getting tea-bagged by Sam McClure.

ok, now it makes sense. They hadn't quoted anyone and I didn't piece the Knightmare conversation when I looked back a page.

I thought their post was about Dylan Moore! :tearsofjoy:

Moore was only one of two players to average 20 touches and a goal, average 24 touches and 4 clearances when played through the midfield this year(over 7 games). Cerra isn't ahead of Moore.

Last season Cerra averaged:

24.6 touches, inc. 9.5 contested
3.8 marks
4.9 tackles
4.3 clearances
4.9 inside 50's
4.9 score involvements

He also had two games where he was hampered by injury and played only two thirds of the game, which has brought that average down (avg 26.0 touches without those games).

In 2021, whilst playing more of an outside/wing role he averaged:

24.2 touches, inc 8.3 contested
5.5 marks
2.8 tackles
3.8 clearances
5.3 inside 50's
5.6 score involvements
15 direct goal assists

Moore has a much small sample size playing as a midfielder.

If he can keep that level of performance up for an entire season, especially with a respectable goal tally (kicked 4 goals during that 7 game run) of around double digit goals, then he'll have overtaken him.

Agree, he's only one step above a cable news 'political analyst' at this stage.

The real tell is that he chose that self-own handle of his with all the language IQ of an Alanais Morrisette.

Cerra vs Moore in 2022

23.2 Touches 20.2
9.1 Contested 8.0
3.8 Marks 5.6
4.6
Inside 50's 3.9
0.3 Goal Assist 0.6
4.9 Score Involvements 5.9
0.3 Goals 1.3
4.7
Tackles 4.2
4.3 Clearances 1.9

Cerra brings 3 disposals and 2 clearances more while Moore brings an extra 1.3 goals.

Only 1 in 15 of Cerras inside 50's result in a goal assist compared to 1 in 6 of Moore's and considering who Cerra is kicking to, it's a pretty telling stat about their ball use.

It's easy to underrate Moore, I did it until 2021.
Try to keep up folks.
He is ELITE.
Totally agree - after all the club delisted and re-rookied him (only) at the end of 2020. Looks like Clarkson et al under-rated him a fair bit as well.

is he one of the most hard done by players in the afl this year with the umpires?

His becoming a really tough player for it to, great year for Moore. Vice captain on the horizon?
The problem is the crackdown on ducking. Moore rarely ducks but I noticed Umpires are calling play on when he should be getting a free for too high.

I think they'll sort it out through the course of the season. I hope.

Although Moore is more than productive as a half forward, I think he should continue to play as a midfielder. I really liked him in that role. With Wingard and Brockman back, Impey also playing as a small forward, there’s really no need for Moore to be playing as a forward.

Have heard Sam Mitchell talk about him a few times - each time, unprompted.

Clearly loves him and it sounds to me like he progresses to full time mid next season. Talent is one thing, but so competitive as well.

Can’t complain about the state of the Tiger’s list but we’d find room for Moore pretty quickly.

He’s a gun.

Won't be playing full time mid next season. Will be playing high half forward with midfield rotations

On the members post-draft forum on Zoom last night Sam was glowing of Moorey and how well he’s developed over the last couple of years.
He said that there was 3 games in a row this year where Dylan couldn’t play like he wanted to because of how opponents were playing him, but Sam explained that this is why it takes players between 50-70 games to find their feet at AFL level, because players need to work on certain parts of their games, or find new ways to play so that when they’re faced with hard opponents or coaching that will stifle them, they can find a way to get around it and remain consistent, and that’s what Moorey did, and he now “has that in his kit bag”.

Sam also said that Dylan already plays like a coach out on the field, and that he lets him play where he thinks the team needs him. If that’s close to goal or high up the ground, it’s up to Moorey. Massive tick of approval from the coach, and as Sam said, for someone so young.

Great write up SYL. Thx.

I forgot about the zoom call, hope there's a way to watch it at some point.

This is why I feel Moore could very well be the Captain next year or with Sam breaking down the importance of a dedicated leadership group we might opt for co captains(Moore/Sicily).
