I'm not bringing his name in to tear him down, he's all class, and if not for his terrible start to the season (first two games where Port fans were baying for his blood) his stats would look so much better.

But Moore's stats stack up favourably compared to Rozee's, though he wasn't even in the squad. If anyone is deserving of a spot to fill that HFF or forward/mid role it was him. Rozee would be #2, or #1B to Moore's #1A in the pecking order.

Saad on the other had has absolutely no business being in that side.
That spot was reserved for Pettraca. Otherwise they can't fit them all.

But so happy with Dylan Moore. Last year he's only want to perform consistently, kick 1 or 2 goals weekly to keep his spot. Now he's an automatic selection 😊.

Rozee had a pretty incredible last three months and recency bias is a massive thing.

Was close to the best player in the comp post bye IMO.
Rozee finished 5th in the coaches votes. After having only 2 votes in the first 5 rounds.

Started slow but once he moved into the middle was unstoppable.

Can’t really make a case for Moore over him.

Moore has improved massively in the last 2 years. Will be in with a good shout next year. Especially if he keeps improving. He’s a super consistent performer. For mine probably needs a couple of huge games to really get himself in the public eye.

I’d say Moore is neck and neck with Newcombe for runner-up in the Hawthorn best & fairest.

With Impey and Wingard back next year, Moore will likely be playing as a permanent midfielder.

I'll be stunned if the top 4 isn't Sicily, Newcombe, Moore and Hardwick.

Moorey had a better year in 2022 in most metrics and finished 3rd in 2021. I can't see him falling below that personally.

Dylan Moore

“Moorey continued to entrench himself as one of the competition's best small forwards with his huge work rate and pressure, while also being able to hit the scoreboard. He began to spend more time in the midfield as the year progressed and really added a dangerous element to our team structure with this role. This adds great versatility to his game and will ensure he remains an extremely hard opponent for opposition to match up on. He really grew his leadership capabilities this year and is emerging as a young leader within our younger players.” David Hale.

Can't believe the greater AFL community haven't picked up how good this guy was this year.

Actually....the greater AFL community are nonces, so maybe I can believe it

To think that he was close to being cut ………. thank you to the footy gods for that last game in 2020 against GC. It’s on the back of strong characters and leaders like Moore that will get us back to where we belong.

Great result for a great year. Imagine if we'd cut him like could've happened and we had to watch Moorey have this year for a competitor!

* Assuming he ended up somewhere else at some point

I know it's all opinion based and I don't totally agree with the exact order below but it's great to see a little bit of love for Dylan Moore in this 2017 re-draft. The kid was a bees d**k from being delisted before that last game against the Suns so to turn it around the we he has is extraordinary by DM. Pretty sure that's the draft we used most of our picks to bring in Tom + JOM so it just goes to show that you can get gems anywhere late in the draft if you have good scouts.

I love Moorey being recognised, but I can't take that seriously when Knightmare has Brayshaw (the reigning MVP) LOWER than the pick he was originally selected with.

Truly bizarre! Still, I'm happy to cherry pick in this instance as it's so nice seeing Moore's name at 7.

Indeed, Taylor has had one standout year and is #1 and Cam Rayner doesn't belong anywhere near 5 with the output he's managed.
