i think we should trade kurt tippett because we've got to many talls and he's not going to be part of our next premiership so move him on so we can develop lynch, johnston, walker and henderson.
this is what i think our forward line will look like next year

Wright Walker Callinan
Henderson Johnston Douglas

The crows need to find a way to get walker into the game early because if he doesnt get a goal in the first quater he usall plays ****

I see it as a low risk/variable reward situation.

Who knows what he'll be - we've got no idea. But we're risking very little to give him a go, so it's worthwhile :thumbsu:

I wasn't necessarily speaking of his trade value, I was speaking of taking a punt on him. Never the less, I don't think we're risking little, Armstrong will turn out to be pretty good. Severely underrated by AFC BF supporters, had stuff all opportunity this year and then when he did get some opportunity he was averaging over 25 disposals for North and played pretty well for the AFC.

The general BF analysis of a player is; haven't heard much from player X he'll be de-listed. They are just stupid assertions. I said months before he was selected for the AFC that he would go alright when everyone else was saying he would be de-listed, and the same for Will Young.

Sydney have picked up a player who will play in their 22 now. He's only played 14 games, is 22 years old and he's only going to get better. Low risk.

We've picked up a "potentialy" elite forward who may or may not have attitude issues, and is no certainty to make it at AFL level at all. He hasn't burned it up at any level, and the excitement is merely because he was a highly rated U/18's player, went pick 12 and has "talent". High risk.

Like I said though, I've got no problem with high risk/high reward trades.

And why won't Tippo be part of our next premiership? The guy is 24 and will be playing footy for the next 8 years... Plus for a guy his size will be coming into playing his best footy over the next 2-3 years...

Much better player and a hell of alot more proven than Lynch, Johnston and Henderson....

I've go no problem with this, it's high risk/high reward. We will win some of these (Jacobs) and lose some (Tambling), be we have to have a crack.

My thoughts exactly. We'll never, never know, if we never have a go. :p

Welcome to the club, Lewis.

Dont pay too much attention to the guys on here mate- half of them watch footy on twitter- no idea. Everyone on here is having a crack at Armstrong because he was caught drink driving- we have all done mistakes in our lives. He had excellen tform in the SANFL before making the crows team at seasons end for five games or so. The SANFL is a good comp and I must say in those five games he grew as a player to the previuos years. He would have been in our top six players in each of those games so much so that I was surprised how good his decision making and kicking was- it had gotto elite level- he was hitting players on the chest with pinpoint passes over 40 metres all the time which is not what I can say for our other players. he would have propelled himself to the best disposal in our team in my opinion and I watch every game live and a replay every week. He was linking up well also.

The Adelaide supporters have a crack as in his first few years he would not put his body in the line sometimes- I feel he is getting better at this as hes getting older- but hes not going to be an inside player as he's quite light.

Youve done well guys- this is the was the AFL is being pllayed these days- Yarran and Gartlett types running out of defense.

Our supporters are getting excited about Lych and all Saints supporters are saying he is a spud with no leg speed.

Skills can not be taught. Armstrong already has them. Everything else can be taught with games and experience but skills only ever improve marginally.

Hahahahaha! Sensational post.... I especially like the last paragraph where you say skill cant be taught:thumbsu:

This was a quote from LJ when he was drafted....

"I wanted to stay in Adelaide at first so I was a little devastated when the Crows didn't take me with pick 10, but I was just excited to be drafted and was looking forward to the challenges ahead."

I wonder where you got that quote from?;)

Can we stop this crap please?

As for Johnston, I have a vague memory that there were concerns over his work ethic and personality when he was drafted, a bit fond of himself maybe??

Pretty much. Was thought of up here as a lazy larrikin. Loads of talent and a big figjam. From what I was told by a number of people at the Dogs is that the only reason they kept him on was to ensure they recieved the AFL money when he got drafted. What I heard though is he matured very quickly at the Swans, but he hasnt improved his work ethic. This could be the best thing for him though.

He matured very quickly after his trip to South Africa with the AIS-AFL Academy before he was drafted. Noticeably to most around him. Is still a larrikin and bit of a character, but nowhere near the figjam he was in the junior days.

Macca- not like Port Bulldogs to be worried about money, right?;) Lewis played one A grade match for them against North Adelaide's orders. If they didn't want him then I'm sure he'd have been able to pick that up and follow his SANFL club's orders.

What club are you tied in with, by the way?

checked with Emma Quayle and her response is it was a done deal yesterday and just waiting to see where the final picks fall. That is all.

I'll take Emma's word for it. She clearly knows a lot more about this kind of stuff than I could ever hope to.
