Very happy with him as well, think I read somewhere that he moved into the midfield later in the year and racked up big numbers? Can anyone confirm that? Seems to be a common theme among the highly talented small forward/flanker types.

Like I said earlier in the week, I think he would make a fantastic combo with Dahl at Boyds feet. Imagine those two just causing havoc left, right and centre. So much X-Factor we could almost justify bringing in Redfoo to be a coach.

At 181cm there's no reason this bloke can't play midfield

Same height as Jack steven (may even be a little taller) with better marking skills. Has that similar burst pace as well as an eye for goal. Very very handy pickup. Thrived both forward and in the middle this season. For mine he slots into our round 1 side.

Remind anyone of Hunter? Seems really similar, which is great.

I thought the name 'Hunter' was familiar, and then I had an immediate flashback to a guy called Kingsley. Had a mental blank about Lachlan for a moment. God, I hate my own subconscious at times.

Hunter and McLean going for mark of the year every round.

I can honestly see Hunter, Hrovat, McLean and Dahl rotating between mid and forward really successfully. All have pace/agility and footy smarts to play both roles. Would like one of McLean or Dahl down there are all times due to raw pace.

You can see why people liken him to Jamie Elliot from Collingwood,
but i think the comparison ends in the air more rounded player
than Elliot with bigger upside. Good pick.

He runs a 3.00 20m sprint I'm fairly sure so not very quick but not super slow. He has enormous endurance and is a very, very quick thinker though.

Yeah wouldn't mind a bit of a faster burst on him but ahh well he looks like he more than makes up for it in other areas, didn't realise he had great endurance either which is a big tick. Most of those small forward/flankers come midfielders don't tend to have big tanks when drafted. Looks like an extremely exciting player and should be pretty fun to watch.

Yeah not overly fussed as long as he plays quick football but its always nice if they have a decent burst on and sort of seen conflicting reports on McLeans pace. Very happy with him though. Daniel looks extremely quick, although thats probably just his little legs moving quickly haha

Yeah haha he's going to bring quite a lot of entertainment value I feel and for everyone saying you can't make it in the AFL anymore at that height, Boomers still going strong and if he has even a quarter of the career Boomer has had we'll be doing well.

Worth the risk at 46. I was hoping for it and we got it. Wouldn't it just be the best thing ever if the pick we got for Jones gave us mini me boomer.
