St Kilda head west on the back of another close loss. The Saints showed fighting spirit to come from 26 points down in the last qtr to tie things up late in the game, only to be disappointed again and let the game slip away in the dying minutes. While the players were obviously gutted by the loss, they can take a lot of out pushing an undefeated North Melbourne.

West Coast on the other hand were deplorable away from home once again and they will be working hard to bounce back at their home ground.

Medical Room: Jack Sinclair was a late withdraw from the game with a corked thigh (replaced by Jack Lonie) and will more than likely return to the side

On The Chopping Block: No player was terrible in a tough game, but Jack Lonie and Darren Minchington would both be feeling the pressure after neither had a big influence on the game. Minchington was quiet for the third week in a row now with just 9 possessions while Lonie had just 8. Both applied good pressure throughout the game but neither got on the score board.

Gresham had just the 13 touches but showed improvement and seems to be growing in confidence.

Knocking On The Door
Jack Sinclair will likely slot straight back into the side after playing some really good football prior to his injury.

Paddy McCartin played higher up the ground then usual in the VFL game against Collingwood, he was a class above and raked in close to 15 marks as well as snagging a couple of sausage rolls. Tim Membrey was good again in the seniors but Richardson may decided to play the 3 talls up forward with Riewoldt playing high up the ground.

Eli Templeton continued his good form in the VFL with another 33 quality touches, he's proving to be a terrific VFL player but there are still question marks on whether he can take the next step in the big league.

Brodie Murdoch, who seems to be right on Richos radar was good once again, he's a terrific user of the football and you feel like he will get another shot at senior level sooner rather then later.

Interesting challenge. Usually McKenzie breaks even with Roo on the leads. Not anymore with the mid positioning and the reduced rotations.

The big challenge will be how the mids fight with a really tall midfield.

I have a feelingwe might win this. We've been on the verge of making a big statement this season. No better place to do it than way out west.

WCE by 130 pts, Crippa to kick 15 goals in Q4 junk time.

Seriously though, I'm worried we'll drop our heads again. And with West Coast being the down hill skiers that they are, it's likely it could be a dirty day.

If we aren't up by at least 20 points the umpires will manufacture a win their way. You can almost guarantee it. There is a different set of rules in Perth.

Next 5 games are;

WCE - Away
Ess - Home
Freo - Home
Adel - Away
Carl - Home

Rob Harvey's 350th notwithstanding, our record at Subiaco is horrendous; IMO, there's more chance of a 'statement game' against either Fremantle - by which I mean an absolute mauling rather than just a win - or against the Crows in Adelaide.

One thing I like about the current crop though, is they won't ever die wondering.

If we can win 4/5 of those then we will be 6-6. That means we need to cause one big upset. Go saints.

We were a huge show late in three games this year, all of which we walked away disappointed (PA,H, NM). The week after two of these (to date) we have been as flat as a s#i! carters hat and got spanked (WB and GWS). Richo faces a huge challenge getting us up an about this week imo, especially with the trip west. Eagles in a canter, and would put plenty on the FA FF line if available.

Also, if you had of said to me two years ago that in 2016 we wont be able to play Hickey and Longer in the same team because we have too many tall forwards already vying for a spot i would have laughed in your face

Hope you're right about the statement in Adelaide, the boys' red wine trip is to the Barossa this year & we've manipulated it nicely to coincide with the Crows v Saints match.
Do us proud...

Heading over for this, get the feeling we could get belted here.

Think Sinclair comes in for Minch, if Roberton is fit he's a definite (who goes out is a mystery, do we drop Lonie and reshuffle the defence slightly?).

This could get ugly, as our two really poor performances this year have been off the back of really deflating losses, so if we don't show up to play, West Coast will downhill-ski all over our asses.

Doubt we'll play Paddy on the big ground over there, but I wonder if we'll consider resting N-Roo? We might have been considering it anyway, but if he's got the sore ankle that it looked like he hurt late in the game it might tip the scales to resting him.

Minch was probably on his last chance on the weekend and even though he applied good pressure, he didn't do enough offensively, so I imagine he'll be the first to go, hopefully for Sinclair.

Templeton would have to be a fair chance, especially as his bigger tank is more suited to the bigger ground than the likes of Mnch or Gresh, but unless he comes in for Lonie, he'll probably miss out, as Gresh did enough (at least offensively- only 1 tackle and 10 pressure acts) to keep his spot for sure.

Roberton or Murdoch may alternatively come in for Lonie. Either one could free up Gilbo to give us a bit extra in the guts, where we were pretty poor yesterday.

I don't think we will win, and the umpires will be dead cert against us.

I can't see Roberton coming straight back in, he comes back through the VFL IMO.

I think one of Lonie or Minch will keep their spot as both applied good pressure. I thought Lonie was good late in the game when it was there to be won.

In: Sinclair
Out: Minchington

Launceston is a larger ground than the G and we played well on both it and G this year..

Being a larger ground I think this ground will suit our team and gameplan and so I am really looking forward to seing how we go.

IN Sinclair and Murdoch
OUT Lonie and Minch
