S.Power and club have some work to do and some decisions need to be made. Some important players out of contract at seasons end.

Liber's signature is very important as is Zaine's and Dal's IMO.
Mclean a massive priority too.

Roughy is a much better, ruck, mark and forward than Trengove. Yet Trengove gets a $400k 4 year deal and Roughy gets shafted. What sort of message does that send our players and anyone thinking of coming here.

Roughy is a better mark.... that's about it. Ruck work and other positions are marginal differences except for KPD where Trengrove is better.

As I said, the Trengove signing has already happened. Do you think we should just offer Roughy the same contract just because of that? I don't rate either so I don't want over $800k spent on exactly the same player, which is pretty much what they are but at least Trengove is capable of playing defence.

I would keep one of Campbell or Roughead. If we have the mistaken belief that Trengove is an adequate back up to English- who still at least 2 years away from holding his own- we are heading for disaster.

This is the problem with recruiting spare parts bit players. They don't cover any of the gaps when you need them.

FWIW Campbell is our tap ruckman- and it looks like Steve Grace agrees by the way he plays them all.

In the Port game Campbell got one quarter, I had to watch Tim English jump ,land and then tap the ball
for three quarters against Khan Haretuku and some random bloke who could not get a consistent game
for Aspley in the NEAFL.

Would love it if Nick Austin was the guest on freedom in a cage this week. Enjoyed listening to Sam Power last week. I feel comfortable with him at the helm, said some really interesting things.

Our recruitment system will be Beveridge centric from now. He will give the prototype of who he wants, Power and Austin will go find them.

Yeeeaah, baby!!

I know where the door is..

This smacks of classic Tom Morris journalism. Needs to fill some tv time/paper lines and goes, well Dahlhaus is still uncontracted. Hmm, he is from near Geelong and is related to Dangerfield.

"Geelong is considering offering him a deal"

No shit. He's a good player. Half the league would be interested in signing him.

The key part of the article is below with Dahl saying he wants to play for the club going forward/loves the club. He's staying.
I can do journalism too!

Patrick Dangerfield grew up in Western Victoria. He is underpaid at Geelong, and could earn much more elsewhere. He is Luke Dahlhaus's second cousin. He wears the same number as Caleb Daniel, whose surname is Dangerfield with a little less gerf...d. He is more of a dog person than a cat person, loves the colour red, and has had the displeasure of meeting Chris Scott.

The Bulldogs could do with an explosive midfielder, and would love to have him at the club. The Bulldogs probably would've taken him in the rookie draft if he had fallen to their rookie pick.

It's a match made in heaven. I'm pretty confident he'll be at the dogs next year.
