You’re suggesting action hasn’t been taken. How do we know this isn’t the case ? How do we know the club didn’t back our young kids to develope in to better players by 2018-19 ? Clubs can’t just go and recruit player A and problem solved.
Some mention on here about what Hawks did after 2008 recruiting wise as something that we should be doing. It’s not that simple.

We need to remember the Dogs are an ELITE SPORTING CLUB ( at Aussie sports level ). They know more about the wrongs and rights and do’s and don’ts of all things football than anyone who’s posted on this thread. They spend hours apon hours apon hours discussing the issues that are discussed on here and probably cover all bases regarding list management and football tactics to the level they can and like all clubs they get it wrong sometimes.
They haven’t nailed the two years following the flag and they were aware it could happen. Just as every other club is aware that what they plan for may not work. We didn’t majorly **** it up, we just didn’t get it 100% right. It doesn’t mean we’re ****** and headed for ten years straight of wooden spoons as some on here suggest.

As for the flag, we didn’t go all out to win it. We won it with youngest, least experienced side in history. That’s why it was so amazing, it almost came out of nowhere. If anything it cursed us in the sense that the expectations from fans and media since have blurred the reality of our situation to the point we all can’t believe we haven’t gone Hawks style three peat, recruited all the players we need to cover list issues and brought in all the best assistant coaches in the comp to form the ultimate coaching panel. Im happy to admit I’m one who thought we’d just role on and make every decision correctly but it just doesn’t happen like that.

Is everything honky dory at the Dogs ? No. Is it the end of the world ? No. Do the club and coaches have some idea of what they’re doing ? Yes
Do we have a good young list that will come good soon and be vying for flags around the time we originally thought they would before we won the flag with the least experienced list in history ? **** yes.

Let me clarify too, this isn’t all directed at you. You aren’t overly negative. Just covering my take on things in my response to your points.
Well put.

One last thing. I have no issues with differing views and discussion around what’s currently happening at the club. It’s the relentless shit canning by some on here that’s hard to bear. It reminds me of the chronic club bashing by Barrett and co.

Nathan Brown pretty confident Wallis will be gone. He and others not happy. wallis dropped for not following orders.

i really dont get how a player can be upset about being dropped if he isnt doing what he is supposed to. are we that prescious or do we not trust the coaching instructions?

Bob Murphy just about confirmed it yesterday. I'm OK with it pending compensation pick etc. It would be just our luck that they scrap compo picks this year.

Wally doesn’t seem the type who’d know better than a six man coaching panel.
I’d say some players probably aren’t used to Bevo coming down hard on them and don’t like it too much.

Haha ok. You said confirmed above and then nothing confirmative in this post.
He said just about confirmed it. And then he said that Bob is worried that Mitch is on the way out. Which is just about confirming it in my view.

Stat on Twitter - we have scored 17 goals in our past 3 games from 155 inside 50s.

You’re absolutely right that the club as specialists are devoting all their time to bring the best they can and would know more than me. It would be illogical to suggest otherwise. However if you use that as a reason for not commenting you basically shut down the entire forum.

My comment on actions was in terms of (i) none seemingly identified in the article (ii) none seemingly that have happened to address the problems they said they knew were coming (such as trading in more midfielders or experience in the backline - given Cloke and Trengove weren’t brought in for that purpose) and (iii) whatever action they have taken certainly isn’t producing results right now.

I’m not buying into as much the, this is the recession we had to have. I think we could’ve and should’ve done better in the period since the flag. I also think we can and should get a lot better with, dare I say it, some of the moons aligning again (injuries in particular).

Nathan scumbag Brown. Apparently he's hearing that a lot of players "are not happy down there". Just waiting for Cooney and Lake to stick the boots in for good measure.
None of these blokes ever praised us when we won the flag. As soon as something bubbles up they love to stick it up us. Who the hell does Brown even know at the club? He walked. Cooney calls himself a life-long Bomber now (after winning a Brownlow with us) and Lake hates us.
Are we just easy pickings?
Saying all that, WTF is wrong with this club's "culture" for want of a better word? Constant in fighting for ever and ever. I think this probably happens at all clubs to a certain extent, but their leaders/club hierarchy bond together to ensure people tow the line or f off. I'm not sure if our place is a total basket case or whether we're just easy pickings for disgruntled ex employees to get stuck in. Either way, don't think the club management handle it well at all. Has Gordon been so quiet lately because there's "nothing to see here"? Or is there really nothing to see.
I'm confused!!! But I hate our track record of real and/or imagined in fighting.

Don't be precious. Nathan brown was screwed over by Campbell Rose. I would of left too. He also had nothing but praise for us in 2016.

"Wallis to leave one hit wonder dogs"

I think we need to stick together, and regardless of what the club is doing on and off the field not give amo to the opposition trolls on the main board.

I hope those that are going to the Supporters Dinner tomorrow night, get a chance to question players/coaches as to where we sit, what is our strategy etc.

def agree with that
we first need clarity where the team is at and what our objectives are

the fans are confused atm because most expect us to be challenging for top8.

coming into 2018 the narrative was a "premiership hangover" and we would be ready and back for this year. wood playing forward was indication of this.
fast forward half a season and now the narrative looks we are in rebuild.

were the club in denial ?

I love how Judas, a player who is, according to himself, God's gift to football and who took the dollars from Richmond and ran, is now an authority on all things to do with us. The bloke is a stain.

Geez calm down. Have you not listened to Browny over the years? He talks up the dogs the majority of the time and is on record saying that he is very fond of the dogs. I'm sure he knows plenty of people down at the dogs considering a bunch of players he played years of football with are still in significant positions at the club.
