Where Do the Swans Go From Here?

Their not banned on trading per-se....Their cap limit has been raised to a $450k max per annum contract.

After their reckless expenditure on 2 duds, you can see why they need adult supervision.

amendment after last years total ban.

penalised for breaking no rule

Love how you label Buddy as a "dud"
Hows Chip Frawley in comparison?

Yes lets not take into account that tonight was "Swans Light", sans Buddy, Parker, Reid, Jack & Johnson still on the LTI list.

THF.

Carlton has been wretched with injury since 2012 and this is what we say we havn't got enough depth.

By round 10 we had Jamison, Judd, Carrazzo, Daisy, Gibbs, Kreuzer, Warnock, Menzel out injured and couldn't get any continuity in our game plan going.

I think some players on your list are just not up to it.

Over the cap if you scrap COLA.

Abused COLA in scuppering Tippett's move to Brisbane & in getting him to 'rat-out' Adelaide in order to get your own way

Ditto Buddy deal to G.W.S in scuppering both Hawks of fair compo & GWS of badly needed franchise player.

You were gifted advantages by the AFL over all other clubs, then used them to ****-over Brisbane, Adelaide, Hawthorn, GWS & last, but by no means least, your pay-masters the AFL.

You have not been punished....Your salary-cap advantages have merely been recinded due to your bastardry.:)

TO REITTERATE: THE SWANS HAVE NOT BEEN PUNISHED....MERELY THEIR EXTRA PRIVILEGES REMOVED!

Lets get it right & accurate.

You know there is a proportion of Hawks fans who have a Pavlovian response to anything swans based. It's quite funny to see how obsessed they get.

IF only you would

So we'd be over the cap if the AFL removed the AFL paid cola immediately.

Abused cola which we didnt control/pay by shedding many depth players over a 2 year period to fit both recruitments

Keep bleating sheep

LOL....Always love your repartee m8.

You have a simple choice....Remove Cola then you are free to trade like anyone else.

But we all know that $2 MILLION+ OF your cap for 2016 is already blown on a coke-head & a dunder-head-OUCH.;)

It's nice to see him finally earn his money after 3 years on 900k!....Such a Shame he's half the reason for your inflated cap....While the other half is in re-hab.:thumbsu:

Bloodz Kulcha.

Fevola deal-Destroyed Brisbane....Judd deal-Destroyed Carlton....Buddy deal-Will destroy Sydney.

If only we could just poach players year after year after year like hawthorn to build a team

I'm not sure what Anna & ballet have to do with it, other than Sizzle's movements out on the field.

Or maybe you've been indulging in too much cream-cake.:)

Either way: Gravity & the weight of 2 over-paid mercenaries, will take it's toll soon enough....Aint Karma grand.:D

Breach of contract FTW!

all done and dusted next year anyways, as is Tippos firsr contract (front loaded btw)

Add Mills to a quality midfield, 2nd year for Heeney and the return of Bud, Parker, Jack and Reid and we'll be fine, thanks for your concern

This is why discussions with some of the hawk fan base are pointless. It's like talking to those with brains the size of dogs. Here read this - you might learn something.

Classical conditioning (also known as Pavlovian or respondent conditioning) is a learning process in which an innate response to a potent stimulus comes to be elicited in response to a previously neutral stimulus; this is achieved by repeated pairings of the neutral stimulus with the potent stimulus. The basic facts about classical conditioning were discovered by Ivan Pavlovthrough his famous experiments with dogs.

That's assuming he's allowed to return, under the 3 strikes policy....He may well not make it back at all, given the nature of his 'condition'...Then your stuck with a $MILLION SIZE hole in your cap for the next 7 years....COLA INVERSION.

LOL....Go look up the adage: 'Taking the Mickey'....Then take one long hard look in the mirror.:$

P.S.....To get back on topic....As the bell-hop was heard to say: 'Going Down'....Enjoy the ride.:thumbsu:

Having said that you might also be all over the response. But what karma ? Overpaid mercenaries ? What does that actually even mean. They are professional footballers. Do you think that all of your players and ex players that have been ditched along the way - shiels, Ellis, young, Cheney only play for the Brown and gold ? Or that lake and Crawley and hale and Burgoyne and dew and so on and so on only regard hawthorn as the only true football club.

You've got a great team. Why you find it so hard to acknowledge that other teams beat you and did so with lrt and Pyke and Mitch Morton beating your heroes in September 2012 is a problem really for you.

I'm pretty happy with what we have achieved and did so in a rugby league town while you relied on jeff Kennett to be your chairman. Pretty bloody happy actually.

Finals in 17 of the last 20 years
4 GF appearances
2 Premierships

Watching a legend like Goodes plus 300-gamers in O'Loghlin and Bolton in that era alongside the likes of Kelly, Kirk and Plugger

Yep, karma sucks ;)

Reckon most astute football followers know exactly what Karma & mercenaries both mean in the context of the Swans deals involving Buds & Tip-rat.

For accuracy sake: Shiels is still with us & Crawley plays for Freo....Though you've miss-pelt it.;)

For good or bad, the AFL system is designed as such that you will have peaks and troughs. You take the good times with the not so good and try to remember it's a just a game. Have i enjoyed essendon's drop this year? no, but it happened and you load up for next year and the one after.

As for the swans, there is some real talent coming through
Kennedy, Hanneberry and Jack aren't old. Tippett, Reid, Buddy & Towers are a good forward line to build around. Rohan looks to be building in confidence and consistency. And the likes of Mitchell, Heeney & Parker will hold them in good stead moving forward.

The retirements of Goodes and Shaw, and impending retirements of Gruny, McVeigh, and Richards will rob them of some defensive experience.

Rebuilding their backline may take a tough call on a few guns - i.e. trade a forward like Towers or Reid, one of their gun mids - and get in a decent CHB and FB to take the reins from Richards and Grundy.

Think along with Goodes and Shaw, Jetta, Bird, McGlynn and Derickx should follow. Jetta should net a decent pick, Bird and McGlynn would get late picks that could help with the new draft system with academy picks.

Then at the end of 2016 Richards, Pyke and guys who have 1 more season to stand up but don't (main one is Brandon Jack) will follow.

Mills, Dunkley and other picks onto the list. Sydney should back themselves in to revive 1 or 2 careers - maybe guys like Tayte Pears to play as a KD, or a forward like Aaron Black to play (third) forward so Reid can play back. These type of players would be on low salaries and wouldn't cost a top 60 pick - just not in favour for a variety of reasons at their respective clubs. If any club can turn them around, it'd be Sydney. And I'm sure most clubs would point to 1 or 2 players like these on their list - guys who have shown something, but just aren't getting it done. Richards, McGlynn, Bolton, Mattner - none were particularly special at their original clubs, but were flag players for Sydney.

4th-7th for Sydney next year. They still have the cattle to finish top 4, not sure they can finish top 3 though. 2017 will be the 'big year' in terms of going backwards or progressing to another flag tilt

People seem to be working on the basis that the midfield is Sydney's big strength. I'm not so sure about that.

Parker, Hannebery, Kennedy, McVeigh and Mitchell are all quality players, but they're all the same - slow, inside players who aren't particularly good kicks.

With Jetta gone, there is a distinct lack of pace and kicking ability. Maybe Rohan and Cunningham can step up, but that remains to be seen.
