I think Naicos and Walsh would be a better comparison. Naicos is on Walsh's level, Cox is not.

Correct, the sum total of his career is less than Cox so far, not by much but still less
But Cox is nearing the end while Walsh is still near his peak, recent Ayres medal, no question that Walsh is currently better

Is Mason Cox currently negotiating a 1 million dollar per season contract with Collingwood ?
He has achieved class clown status. He is the player that both opposition and his own supporters laugh at
Old mate Cirn Cobbers has compared Walsh to Stephenson. They're a special breed pies supporters
On what basis is Cox currently better than Walsh?
As opposed to Collingwoods list which has peaked at 12 wins.
Might be the old "eye test" that was once used as a reference

Mason Cox has played 129 games.
If you take the top 10 individual games the respective players have played in their careers, Cox has 6 of them, De Koning 4.
Top 20 games - Cox 12, De Koning 8.
Top 50 games - Cox 28, De Koning 22.
Top 100 games - Cox 60, De Koning 40.
Top 150 games - Cox 90, De Koning 60.
And then you consider that many of Cox's best performances have been in finals.
De Koning is without doubt the better player right now and heading into 2025, he is negotiating a million dollar a year deal that will further hamstring the salary cap of a club that has peaked at a 13 win season, but his career output is not yet at the level of Mason Cox.
