He keeps referring to Adelaide as the worst side in half a century, which tells me that he has no memory of Fitzroy 96, Sydney 92/93 or even Melbourne 2013
They were all bad, but they all won at least a game in those seasons. I suspect Adelaide are probably better than '96 Fitzroy or the '93 Swans, but a no win season has its own special identity.
Adelaide still have a few chances, but if they go winless, there is a good case for worstness.

Port beat Richmond.
St Kilda beat Richmond
GWS beat Richmond
Collingwood drew to Richmond.

Even Hawthorn beat them.

They're not infallible, and certainly you're deluded if you think West Coast "remain the only team capable" of beating them.

heh...

You know ebbs and flows advantages disadvantages you dont win em all, even the mighty amazing Richmind have lost four and a half games ,you wanna read whatever you like into that game ,thats sweet
I'll be back after finals to say I told you so again. Unless you get gifted Perth.

I think Adelaide has been a lot more competitive than those sides though. They probably won’t win one now but they have gone close a few times.

96 Fitzroy was just a gimme each week.

Geelong, Tigers WC three in front.

A gap to Port and Brisbane.

Geelong the team to beat because they currently have the best collection of players available without too many significant injuries.

Geelong scare me the most. If they ever played 4 qtrs against us, we'd be in trouble. But they seem to have periods when they go into their shell. Deep, deep midfield, and I don't think Prestia and Edwards make it back for us. I think that's a big factor. And with Grimes down on top of Astbury, it gets tough. Because if we don't beat Cats, we're not top 4.

Brisbane interest me. I swear it's a mental block. They've dominated the first 1.5 qtrs the last 2 times they've played us but been unable to convert. The time they do, they'll just go bang.

We got rid of our block against the Cats in the 17QF. Before that we were good enough, but kept falling short. It was all in the head.

Essendon are going to win all their remaining games, finish eighth and win the grand final from there making me $20,000 richer......

Then I woke up.

I think West Coast, Richmond and Geelong are the three best and most experienced finals sides and that will be a telling factor.

I can’t be impartial. West Coast for me.

At the end of the day we dont even know where the GF + finals series will be played yet. If its all in Perth you would be mad to write the Eagles off as anything other than favourites. Similarly if its in Queensland then Brisbane would be in the box seat.

No mention of St Kilda who beat Richmond comfortably back in Round 4? I reckon Hardwick and co would much rather play Brisbane in a final than St Kilda.

No mention because they have dropped off and got absolutely spanked by Geelong. They’ll get better but look like they are running out of steam for this year

West Coast game plan fell apart under Richmond pressure

not sure they can beat them
Not in a QLD night game. We can beat most teams with only a slighty damp ball - but not the Tigers.

I still think we are a 40/60 chance of beating them on a dry deck...but will need to improve on last night. Hopefully some personal changes improve us (yes I know Richmond had out also).

Good god . Hahahaha Even Freo beat your Rabble.

you should learn how to read the entire post before you comment. Name me a team that could beat Tigers this year when they were up and about with that intensity we saw last night?? did you even watch the game??that was close to 10/10 performance 4 qrt footy. you think Richmond cares about round 2 or 3 losses?? apart from port where are those teams on the ladder?? IMO port-Tigers game was close tie with last night as game of the season so far.port is too predictable up front just like Geelong and will fade come finals when you have less time, less space and more pressure around you. You should know that, you follow Geelong. Once again, the only team capable of actually handling Tigers when they are on are Eagles. In this order, Richmond, then Eagles, then Geelong followed by Brisbane and Port.

Not the only team. We’ve gone alright against the tigers in recent meetings, had them at HT in the PF before they got on top, belted them by 70pts in our H&A game at the G last year, and before that I think Ablett had a chance to kick the winning goal which went on the full in 2018. We stack up against them, but what tends to happen is when their pressure goes up, our system falls away and that’s where they get us, and where they got you guys last night.

We’ll see how we go against them in over a weeks time, should be a good game.

Geelong are a quality team too but not as good as Tigers and Eagles if they are playing to their full potential. It comes down to all 3 lines ( D, M and Forward line) plus ruck and depth alongside mental edge, game plan and little 1%'s Tigers are still the team to beat behind them Eagles and then Cats. Geelong Eagles game earlier in the year was also a great game.

Reckon most important in for Eagles v Tigers is Yeo. Need more tough players around the contest

Not sure how you can pick eagles ahead of Richmond

They have looked the most balanced across the park, consistent and look like they have an extra gear.
