The same Geelong getting pantsed by the Dogs?Geelong, Tigers WC three in front.
A gap to Port and Brisbane.
Geelong the team to beat because they currently have the best collection of players available without too many significant injuries.
Geelong scare me the most. If they ever played 4 qtrs against us, we'd be in trouble. But they seem to have periods when they go into their shell. Deep, deep midfield, and I don't think Prestia and Edwards make it back for us. I think that's a big factor. And with Grimes down on top of Astbury, it gets tough. Because if we don't beat Cats, we're not top 4.
Brisbane interest me. I swear it's a mental block. They've dominated the first 1.5 qtrs the last 2 times they've played us but been unable to convert. The time they do, they'll just go bang.
We got rid of our block against the Cats in the 17QF. Before that we were good enough, but kept falling short. It was all in the head.
Most knowledgeable footy fans don't think Port Adelaide can win the flag.I dont see whats wrong with Port as a chance. Their last four games are against bottom six sides more or less ,they would have to fall over badly to miss the top two.
Either put on some Church or go back to the Bay PlugwanaNo mention of St Kilda who beat Richmond comfortably back in Round 4? I reckon Hardwick and co would much rather play Brisbane in a final than St Kilda.
Nah.The same Geelong getting pantsed by the Dogs?
This thread changes every week. No, every game. One week it’s all Eagles, then Geelong, then Richmond. All 3 of those teams have shown faults.
The truth is that any team that makes finals this year, can win it, with the top 6 the most likely. Like any year.
In the last 20 years, rarely has the order of the top 6 been so important. Because of the evenness, the actual rivalries in the finals and the gf itself are critical.
I do think it's a battle between Richmond, West Coast and Geelong. They're the teams that can genuinely beat anyone, can win anywhere, have deep finals experience and all have upside.
Brisbane just a bit off the pace- can't see them beating the three previously mentioned teams too often. Port Adelaide the unknown. Personally, I see them a bit like Geelong of last year- good enough for a prelim but not a premiership.
Can GWS or Collingwood cause any carnage from the lower end of the eight [should they make it]?
IF finals are played in Perth (especially the GF) then WCE will win the flag this year. If not, Richmond will. Geelong has shown in the past 2 weeks they still have lots of holes in their game planIf WC get to play a home grand final, they'll be difficult to beat. If that scenario doesn't eventuate, I think Geelong have enough in reserve to handle any team anywhere.
Richmond and Port are also in the mix. Plenty of variables at play here which keeps things interesting.
FWIW my point still stands, despite Geelong coming back. They’re not invincible and that even showed tonight.Nah.
It's true every team has off weeks.
But the Cats have already righted the ship tonight.
I only trust 3-4 teams to do the job over the complete finals series.
Geelong have more upside than Richmond in my opinion, and have found a way to win when they're not playing well over the last two rounds. Throw in the added motivation that comes with a finals campaign and the inclusion of Ablett, and you have all the ingredients necessary for success in a challenging season.IF finals are played in Perth (especially the GF) then WCE will win the flag this year. Premier will come from top 4FWIW my point still stands, despite Geelong coming back. They’re not invincible and that even showed tonight.
I still believe it’s anyone’s cup if you make the top 6. It’s just that kind of year.
You'll have more cattle available than us.Geelong v Richmond for mine. I reckon they'll both finish top 4 and win the first week - unless they play each other, of course.
Don't reckon WC have the cattle available or the resilience/bloodymindedness to put it together from here.
Last year, they blew a top 4 finish in the final round when they lost to Hawthorn with an inexplicably listless performance. I suspect there may be something like that coming down the pipe in the next week or so. Bombers, Bulldogs and Saints all have a finals spot on the line. WC aren't going to be able to cruise through.
Lose 1 and they could still sneak into the top 4 if Geelong beat Richmond. Lose 2 and they'll be making up the numbers come finals. Heaven forbid they lose more than 2.
Most likely, the stats do back this up, so I can’t really disagree with you. Still, it’s wacky 2020 after all and it’s not impossible for a top 6 team to feature in the GF.Premier will come from top 4
It's not so much that those teams have a finals spot on the line, more that WC play shit in QLD. I'd be worried if I was a WC supporter.Geelong v Richmond for mine. I reckon they'll both finish top 4 and win the first week - unless they play each other, of course.

Even Port Adelaide fans don't really believe PA can win the flag.
Quietly, I don't even think Port Adelaide players themselves really believe they can win the flag.
They would be the most vulnerable #1 ranked team over the AFL era.
Can GWS or Collingwood cause any carnage from the lower end of the eight [should they make it]?
No mention because they have dropped off and got absolutely spanked by Geelong. They’ll get better but look like they are running out of steam for this year
Good god . Hahahaha Even Freo beat your Rabble.
The ace up our sleeve IMO is a fresh Ablett for finals. Last year we overplayed him and he was cooked by September.FWIW my point still stands, despite Geelong coming back. They’re not invincible and that even showed tonight.

The same Geelong that just rolled the Bulldogs....The pretenders are starting to get exposed & I am with some other posters who feels the flag is coming from Geelong, the Eagles or Tigers. The same Geelong getting pantsed by the Dogs?
and the steam off his piss has more talent than your list. The ace up your sleeve is a 43 year old lol
