Will Collingwood win the flag?

Nah an implosion is when an unprofitable, unsustainable football club rejects it's only chance at survival through moving interstate, then seeks to live off the charity of the AFL and the bigger clubs before inevitably collapsing into the dustbin of afl history.

Ohhh, that grand final quip really hit home!

What do North have to do with Collingwood losing a grand final? #beingridiculousandefensive.

Yes. North made some mistakes. North aren't a flag threat though and on what I saw yesterday West Coast look very much a chance to beat Collingwood at the G in a grand final.

Collingwood, Adelaide, Hawks and WC are all a chance to win this years GF. Pies slight favourites.

pies aura of invincibility (if they ever really had one) is well and truly is gone.

eagles will smash them at subi in round 22 and will be a good chance of knocking them off in sept.

pies will be hoping they dont play us in the finals.

Eagles are the best challenger to Collingwood, if thats what you mean. They still have to make top two if they want to win the flag though, so they are going to have to keep winning.

Pies wont care who they meet in September. You have to beat the best to win and teh Eagles are worthy opponents.

So they're the only teams who make the prelim? Do think so. Collingwood deserve to be premiership favourites at this stage.
You really think if the Hawks make the top 4 (questionable) they will win week 1? I very much doubt it.

Eagles don't have to finish top 2 to win it. An away prelim vs Adelaide, Sydney or Collingwood is winnable.

In Adelaide or Sydney it's very winnable but in Melbourne I think the odds are far greater.

I think the stat was during the game that you have won only 2 games over here since 2006.

Hawthorn would also trouble WCE over here alot too IMO.

They are absolutely a chance to win a QF.

Hawthorn have already beten Collingwood this year.
If they make the top 4 that means they most likely can only lose 1 more match this year with games still to come vs Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Geelong, Sydney and West Coast. Think they lose at least 2 of these games, if not more.

They are only one game out of the four with superior perentage to a couple of teams. Wouldnt be writing them off. Reckon your maths is out regardless. Two losses should get them into the four.

After beating the Eagles every time we have played them since '07, I don't think we will fear them in finals. They could still knock us off, but we certainly have the wood over them, and I would rather play WC than the Hawks in a final. I think we will be happy to play anyone in a final, because to be the best, you have to beat the best.
Also, Rd 22 will not be a fait acompli. We travel VERY well and will have not too much pressure on us to win. More pressure is on the Eagles, because if they were to lose to us at Subi, there would be a potential loss of confidence over their ability to win in Melbourne

Just stop.

So true, & the aim must be top 2, & any loss reduces our chances.

Great game, lots of good natured banter, particularly one fan who screamed every time the Eagles put their head over the bin 'theyre ducking' - fortunately his mates told him shut up mid way thru the 2nd.

Great game by Clokey, worth a $mil Ed ... $750 wont do the job;)

Collingwood still the side to beat. They were missing a rather handy player called Pendlebury yesterday.

But West Coast showed that can't be written off at the MCG. Two horse race for me.

I still think Hawthorn can beat Collingwood in the last few weeks of September with all things even, but you'd say Collingwood are premiership favourites as it sits.
The difference between a great Hawthorn and a merely good Hawthorn is far too heavily reliant on one player, they are lucky dip. Depends on whether the good Buddy or the bad Buddy turns up - and if he goes down with injury - forget it.

Personally think Hawthorn is the only team capable of competing with the Pies but I don't think we can make it with the top 4 likely to be filed with interstate teams.

There was never an aura of invincibility so neither team had anything to prove last night in that respect.
Rest easy champ, you have a very good side that will trouble any one that they play come September. If I was you, I'd be getting nervous if the players are as cocky as you are. I wouldn't be getting cocky about Subi either. Collingwood, Hawthorn and maybe even Adelaide could smack you around on your own turf.
If I may indulge and be one eyed for a sec, you'd better hope that the Pies don't have to win that game in round 22 to get a home final.
