Will/Should clubs raid Richmond's list?

Richmond is a happy club. Vickery is one of the few players who wanted out in the past several years.

I expect some of the OP's list to be squeezed out against their wishes this year and next. Those players will be cheap, and some may be slow to develop rather than lacking ability. But Jay Schulz was a rare bird.

Not sure if Miles just smells bad. He regularly plays above VFL level and hes shown he cuts it at AFL level. Hed definetely be better than a number of other clubs 4th-6th mids.

Maybe he is a little too one dimensioned for the modern game. Hes an old fashioned no frills inside mid. See ball, get ball, dish ball out.
Name some of these teams, and bear in mind teams really only play 4 inside mids and rotate guys who can play forward or outside. If he really was so much clearly better than VFL wouldn't Richmond have played him in Prestia's absence?

He doesnt suit our gamestyle, not quick and cant play forward. Hes a good enough player. Hed be playing in most teams outside the 8. Maybe not all, but enough that I find it odd he hasnt asked for a new home.

One mans trash is another’s treasure and vice versa. It’s very hard to rate players and their worth as clubs generally recruit to address a need. I’ve seen some usual troll analysis here and the usual commentary on the big 4 and nothing around it. All the while players like Rioli was the number one pressure forward in the comp and kicked around 30 goals. Your ignorance is just the way i like it. Keep those heads in the sand and fingers in the ears people.

Sent from my iPad using righteous Bhodi manpower

I'd say 4: cotchin rance dustin riewoldt. the rest are roleplayers but the system worked

You're actually not too far off there Juddy. Edwards has recently gone into Burgoyne mode which has been pleasing, and the backline is a very even cohesive group where Rance is the Bruce Springsteen and the rest (Vlastuin, Grimes, Houli, Astbury, Broad/Short) are the E-Street Band. The media even valiantly and unsuccessfully search for other stars in the Tigers team to explain the success of 2017, but it's really the prototype "champion team rather team of champions", not unlike the Sydney Swans of 2005.

The Brisbane and Geelong premiership teams of the 2000's would regularly and rightly feature 8-10 AA nominees - the Tigers only needed 3 or 4.

Forget the stars that are apparently (and inexplicably) the only players that get noticed.

I'll take Grimes and Astbury without a second's hesitation.

We had 3 top 25 picks in last years draft after winning the flag.
Has that happened before?
Higgins @ 17 will be a star.
Callum Coleman-Jones is a ruck so he will take time.
Noah Balta is Rance Jnr. Mark my words

To be fair, Rance had the coordination of a new born giraffe at 18!

And a sense of fearlessness that was part-astonishing and part-terrifying. Thankfully since then he's developed something resembling a self-preservation safety valve while on the field.

And he is now without question the best decision-maker in the team - Edwards is second - and probably our best user of the ball too.
