Good to see the big show having a laugh after ending his international career this world cup. Will never get near the test team now and will be dropped for Wade for our next 1 day series. He's an all rounder who can't bowl and his batting has fallen apart.

The use of TV, 3rd umpire, review system was brought in to get rid of the howler.

If its good enough for the 3rd umpire to review every dismissal for a no ball, its then good enough for him to review a howler. The decision was shown as not out before Roy had left the field.

Sure you have the bulls**t of players wasting reviews on frivolous LBW's, but that shouldn't mean the 3rd umpire doesn't have the right to make a review call.

You do understand every single appeal would need to be reviewed to be 100 percent sure, every lbw every half arsed caught behind shout every single one.

Are people really thinking that Roy will be suspended?
We all know he will almost certainly not be suspended for it.

Those of us who have been following (and playing) cricket for a while know that in other circumstances he very well could be.

Some would even argue that he should be.

We've all copped shocking decisions but you have to walk off the field. It is a central tenet of cricket.

Well if Australians can boo a player and call them a cheat for not walking, we’ll call Carey a cheat for appealingly when the batsman misses it by a foot
so you're ok with labelling everybody who appeals for any wicket that is actually not out a cheater? seems a bit of a stretch

Couldn't agree more. Was disgraceful to see that at this level.

No it doesn't have to be. You have sniko which says a ball is either hit or not. If a batsman says he didn't hit it, its a pretty quick check to see if that's the case. LBW are more contentious. If you didn't hit the ball, you didn't hit the ,ball.

I heard he split the umpire open and there was another baby umpire inside him and the baby umpire winked at him

I will check the replay on my Beta machine cassette tapes, but I dont recall seeing that my friend.
What I want to know is, how in the %$#& was Roy allowed to carry and conceal a weapon onto the pitch

Dickwella copped two demerit points for this incident, but you can't see what happens except for the immediate aftermath of the wicket.

I don't think Roy gets suspended, but gee he has left himself potentially vulnerable.

The review system is there to prevent howlers

If England didn’t waste it on a clear LBW it would have reversed that decision.

But if you don't check every shout for a nick you still miss some, you cannot only check ones when the batsman is given out.
