I remembered at least two
  • Shinsuke Nakamura Vs Samoa Joe for the NXT title when NXT did a tour here in 2016
  • Seth Rollins Vs Dean Ambrose for the WWE title (can't remember which year that was)

Could be wrong, but wasn’t there a cage match with Cena on a tour?

edit: already covered above, at least my memory isn’t failing me yet

Seth Rollins has to be a heel soon. He’s been getting negative reactions for months now. That HIAC booking was absolutely horrendous and hurt both Rollins and Wyatt.

Can't turn every face who gets booed, a heel. All faces get booed. It's the way WWE is booking them. Don't see Cody getting huge negative reactions.

I agree with that, I felt it’s happened since Cena in ‘06. It’s been 13+ years and they can barely get it right. Punk and Bryan IMO the biggest 2 fulltime faces that got properly cheered in this period. But 1 got driven away, 1 got injured.

Don't see Cody getting a huge reaction full stop-- where does this myth come from that Cody is some 'uber face'; the crowd was positively mild for him when he 'made the save' for the Bucks last Wednesday; Dustin got a louder pop than Cody did.

Lol you can't help yourself can you.

Cody is the most over face at the moment by far.
It's why he has a title shot.

The crowd has been loving him lately, he didn't get a huge pop because he already wrestled earlier that night. Also Cody isn't shoved down our faces as some perfect, cookie cutter babyface. He is just him and sometimes acts heelish, but has a likeable personality and isn't booked the way Seth is.

Because they let Punk and Bryan show their personality. Cena cut out most things that made him likeable to begin with, they let him get some of it back with the feud with Rock and he flourished.

They need to let their faces show a bit more.

So AEW gave him a title shot because he's popular?
Or because he 'has the best win/loss record'?
Or because he's an EVP?

One TV show in and it already appears there's inconsistency in to the reason he's been given a title shot.

But anyway-- back to WWE.

Such an attitude era start to the show--- the action already underway with Orton & Corbin beating down Rusev; then the Lashley video interruption. (Even if it's awkward AF)

I thought similar “I bet they’ll bring out Seth to save Rusev and get crowd on his side”, and thought that would burn them so badly.

This was worse.

Literally no mention of the main event so far!

The opening recap wasn’t about the main event/main championship, or the epic women’s cage match. Nah, it’s some shithouse storyline from a raw last week.. wowee
