It’s a business. They serve their shareholders. They are not a charity. If they believe a wrestler is not cutting the mustard then they cut their losses. No different to most industries. It’s unfortunate and I’m glad for the wrestlers that there is more opportunities out there today. The way people carry on though is way over the top and disproportionate, considering the majority of all business have and do the same.

As for NXT. Couldn’t be better news, if true that they are going to go back to a bigger larger than life athlete perspective. It was a much better product when smaller guys were the exception rather than the rule, in my opinion anyway.

Chairing a publicly traded company to record profits

This is the hardest part for people to understand or accept. Everything they have ever done over time is build stars to draw money realistically they give two ****s about Sami Zayn vs Finn Balor but it’s Roman Reigns vs Cena they care about and you can even go back to the day when you had guys who were brilliant like Mr Perfect but never the “man”.

AEW claim they are more for the fans which they might be in this current climate but there will be a day when the wheel turns and it becomes about money, have to be profitable to operate on a larger scale.

You only have to look at history - Hogan, Austin, Rock , Cena all massive stars and the money they drew in was ridiculous.

Bret Hart and HBK run circles around any of those guys in the ring but never drew as big.

WWE doing what they have done for decades no other company has been able to go with them and the jury is out on AEW will it be the savior for wrestling or will it be another WCW plenty of promise but a stacked roster that limits their ability to create new stars that can take it to the next level?

I love some of the stuff they are doing but sometimes it really does remind me of WCW just with stacked roster and so much going on.

For what it’s worth I would love WWE to do what AEW and that is the Cesaro, Balor, Zayn types that are really high up there and have good runs but it’ll never happen.

Right now you could say Roman Reigns is a star but is anyone else at WWE on that level? It’s funny but Cena and Goldberg walk straight back in and the three of them are the most recognizable names. AEW has the same problem Jericho aside is there anyone on that roster the name jumps off the page at you and the casual or non wrestling fans recognize?

You could have said tbe same about Strowman

Why? They have a “Giant” in Omas so don’t need a smaller one.

I remember an interview with Vince and Mark Henry where he wanted to compete in the Strong man competition.

Vince said he has no use for the second strongest man so he had better win. Henry knew he would lose his job if he didn’t.

it's about building the WWE brand, not building stars.

I reckon Roman Reigns is well on the way to becoming a mega star

Roman is being built so he can take on a megastar in the Rock. The finale of the Bloodlines storyline.

It’s been said before they are a content creator they don’t want megastars anymore as they become too powerful. No one bigger than the company.

Jesus they’ve hung Kross out to dry.
A mid entrance promo, wide shot of his entrance making him looking small and unimportant. Another match against Jeff Hardy lol.
He is small and unimportant though.
