  • Sensational win. Lots of winners, Hayward up forward & Rampe down back owned their respective ends of the field....but the midfield of Heeney, Gulden, Warner, Rowbottom & Grundy were supreme. Special mention to Warner who did it early when it wasn't all our way and Grundy, who delivered some special ruck taps that completely changed the game and were of a quality swans fans probably forget existed.
  • We played the wet whether much better, contrary to what was probably popular belief pre-game, wet whether suits our clearance style better - which is generally a bit hack for territory...which can be frustrating sometimes in dry but plays well in the wet, they definitely struggled to adjust and we absolutely owned territory.
  • Shout out to Jordon who has done some bloody good shut down jobs since the bye....no disrespect to Clarke who gave an AFL career a red hot crack, but Jordon looking like he can do those jobs but is much, much better at getting and using the ball.
  • McCartin the obvious only negative from the game. Hopefully this is the last bloody concussion because it's becoming a huge worry....not only for him personally but from a football point of view our KPD depth is still a bit dicey.

Very impressed (a little surprised) how well we matched them physically.
Grundy & Adams have helped immensely in that aspect.
Rampe is an absolute gun, not only with his performance but his leadership is next level.
Our big 3 in the middle had great games but well supported by the likes of Rowy, Macca and yes, Wayward had his best game in 2 years!!
Nice cameos from quite a few,… I love Wicks, he doesn’t get big disposals but everything he does is smart, tough and skilful (should play every game when he’s fit).

What a day, great crowd, great atmosphere, great win! 🤗

Interesting Horse saying they took into account ruck rotations for Grundy when deciding on the three talls.

We go over things til we are blue in the face on here and we still miss various factors
also liked Longmire's praise of Melican, and at the end acknowledging the Sydney crowd, who could have stayed home with the wet weather predicitons 👏

He is having a terrific year. Definitely a confidence player - but when he is playing well, invariably the Swans are playing well. Has been great all season, but super today in tough conditions not necessarily suited to his style of footy. Like many of his team mates, 2024 is proving the year where a lot more of his tackles 'stick' - that strength challenge many of our younger players were facing is disappearing.

So many big winners on the day out there for us - a really solid, all round team performance.
Did I only dream Jmac was pretty much rubbish the first 3-4 weeks and many were wondering if he'd be dropped? 🤔
Anyways, good he's hitting form now.
I was doubtful about Sir Dane coming straight in and guarding Greene, but he was pure royalty.
Surprised Haywood didn't win MoTM, I'd have given it to him.
KPF play the only doubt in my mind about reaching a GF at this rate

Good win = happy weekend.

Geelong is the real test for that toughness for mine. They definitely won't be playing the team of kids they bullied in 22 next time around.

Yeah, I reckon that's an important last box to tick to say 'we are ready'.
Spewing that next match up is in Sydney actually. We need to exorcise those demons from us of 'Cats at the G' and would rather it be done before late Sep.
Guess it would be at KP anyway if in Melb so will just have to wait until crunch time in the finals..

Cant beat us with the footy look elsewhere? looks like a clear direction from some teams to just risk suspensions against us.
Teams are definitely coming in hot and heavy against us.

That could be because they're threatened by us and want to try and make a statement, or because they think our hardness is a potential weak spot and they think they can exploit it.

Either way it's good to see we're overcoming it week on week. Would have to give the boys some confidence knowing they're withstanding a barrage of physicality coming their way.

Should the Kirk Medal (not that i give a shit about best on medals regular season) be renamed to add a GWS influence as well , like the Kirk- Folau Medal or whatever

Much better team with Rampe down back, mids smug and rightly so, wasted forward fifties still a problem and might be an issue in finals - not sure why we continue to use the scatter gun approach.

In the end you can't ask for a better performance in greasy conditions

Beaten 4 out of a possible 7 top 8 and should start getting a bit of credibility from Vic media, but understand that the Swans credibility come grand final day over the last decade makes them hard to trust.

Sometimes seems like Fox and Rampe are seen as the 3rd tall and that won't change, if Rampe is fit either Fox goes forward or misses out. Be interesting if he gets to start next week
I'm sure they'll want marking power back there and Francis will be in.
I love Fox, but his game is more ground based and getting us out of trouble that way in the backline.

Thats good and all but McCartin will be a huge loss and hurts us for weeks while Brown gets a nice rest and GWS will hardly miss him.

Saw on Twitter our top 3 for average goal assists this year.

Heeney & Gulden are there, as you'd expect. But right in between them is one J. McInerney.

Not at all surprising. He is just looking silky and steady and making good decisions. Also earlier in the year when we had Lloyd & Campbell also both on the wings, felt like we weren't getting enough out of either of them. Granted Lloyd's built nicely into the season the last few games, but it feels like McInerney is sort of a really nice combination of the two of them. He has Lloyd's running ability to kinda seem like he's gliding over the surface, but with the ability to pull off risky kicks like we want from Campbell.
