35K against Gold Coast and 40K today - despite the presence of negligible opposition fans.

Really bummed we didn't make it up today - but the Mrs has felt a bit off the last couple of days, and we are off on holidays overseas on Wednesday, so didn't want to take any chances of getting crook. Not to worry - I'm sure we will play scintillating footy over the next three weeks while I'm out of the country and can't watch, and they'll save a shocker for my next home game (Cats after the bye)

Thats good and all but McCartin will be a huge loss and hurts us for weeks while Brown gets a nice rest and GWS will hardly miss him.

I saw a post recently suggesting a fairer situation would be normal suspension + next game the teams played. Worth a thought I reckon. You could be getting yourself suspended for a final in week 3 or 4. Certainly puts the onus back on the players

He is not a like for like replacement, that's for sure. But I'd feel more confident with Fox in the defensive mix and someone else coming in to the 22, then I would feel picking Francis on current form. An interesting conundrum for the selectors coming up next week.

Teams are definitely coming in hot and heavy against us.

That could be because they're threatened by us and want to try and make a statement, or because they think our hardness is a potential weak spot and they think they can exploit it.

Either way it's good to see we're overcoming it week on week. Would have to give the boys some confidence knowing they're withstanding a barrage of physicality coming their way.

Just got home from the ground. I thought Warner was BOG. McInerney was outstanding. Heeney tough but classy throughout. Grundy tenacious against a pretty impressive, at times, Briggs. Gulden was poor IMO compared to his lofty standards.
