Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

What's really strange in the CFC media release is that it says 'the club won't be commenting until it is required to do so'. Media releases are crafted carefully and this is really odd that they'd bother to include this line if it wasn't intentional. It almost suggests they are expecting to share more info later but not now.

My interpretation of personal issues are family, relationships and mental health.
If you're employed by the club and you break the rules then it is fair to announce the circumstances and discussion should be open.

Blame the AFLPA.

No idea what this is about, might be a coincidence that the AFLPA has repeatedly campaigned for players on first and second strikes to not be named, citing mental health and well being.

Another one having a rest.

Seems problematic in the system right now.

Ollie would be pretty shattered about it and it would not surprise me to see him left out of the team, for this one.
Doubt it, supposedly being going on for a while and the writing was on the wall from the pre-season games selection/game time.

OH will only be left out if not in the best XXIII on form/positional. Think they’re grown up enough to separate their personal lives too.

If the AFL wants to play hardball, then the AFLPA needs to rip their players out of the voluntary policy and don’t accept illicit drugs testing.
Performance enhancers only.
Don’t see any benefit in changing “the rules” for public announcement & fines for corporal punishment.

Does he still get paid? He's proffesional athlete on big money and his job is to play at the elite level and prepare accordingly.

Going by rumors I would say the Holland's announcement has been scheduled to happen for a good while now.

Very disappointing. Many careers hang by threads at footy clubs and are performance based, Miss a good player, and we are missing a few. Things like this could cost people their jobs.

The risk was history repeating itself so we can't be surprised because it just does.

This would have to be very deflating for the playing group. I mean, I know the players are professionals and they will go out

there and get it done. But they are still human and they must be feeling somewhat disappointed and bewildered imo.
doubt it

They will know exactly what’s going on and why the course of action is being taken

The club and Elijah want to shut up shop - that is fine.

None of our business.

I’m all for transparency when it ultimately leads to a better outcome for those involved. In this case, other than satisfying our curiosity and creating mire content for journalists, I’m not sure it would.

Happy for Elijah to talk about his issues if and when chooses.

Having said all that, while I hope the club is looking to support him for as long as possible, I also hope the club is looking at life without Elijah
